  • How Busy Minds Build Better Businesses - Paul D. Lowe & Peter Shankman
    May 21 2025
On this episode of the SoulScape podcast, host Paul D. Lowe - International Celebrant – talks to Peter Shankman about how to use the opposite of being still, creating a space and quietening the mind, to build better businesses. KEY TAKEAWAYS I think there’s a place for zen and tranquillity but, for many people, that’s not the first place they would choose to go. I’m at my calmest when I’m at my most productive. The concept of how my brain works is the premise of “deep work”. When I’m put into a situation that allows me to focus on one specific thing, and only that one thing, I’m at my best by a factor of 100.I was diagnosed with ADHD in my late-30s, growing up in public schools in New York, I’d be told to sit down because I was disrupting the class. There was no diagnosis at that point, I’d always be told by my parents to stop procrastinating and leaving everything until the last minute. What I realise know is that leaving everything until the last minute gives me the dopamine hit that I need to get it done. The problem with labels is that they tend to mis-label, they box people into one category, and people rarely fit into one category. Simply saying you’ve been “diagnosed” – people get diagnosed with cancer. Having a neurodiverse brain means you’re faster, you can do things that other people can’t, as long as you know how to use your brain. I don’t consider that a diagnosis – you’re not diagnosed with winning the lottery!Everything I’ve done, whether it’s been a success or a failure, has been a way to learn from it. I want to work with people who learn and understand that it’s perfectly OK to screw up – it’s supposed to happen. The only downside is not learning from your screw ups, as long as you’re learning you’re fine. BEST MOMENTS ‘Studies say that when you’re interrupted, it takes upwards of 22 minutes to get back onto that flow state of work. So, if you get interrupted once an hour, you’re only productive for 20 minutes out of the hour'. ‘Some people who procrastinate do it because it benefits them; it makes their work stronger and more productive'. ‘I’m focused on helping kids understand that just because they have a different brain doesn’t mean they’re broken, it means they’re gifted. If they understand that at an early age it’ll save them a lot of trouble'. ‘You have to learn how to stop giving a fuck about what other people say'. • A Celebration of Who I Am - Paul D. Lowe & Aimee Mosco
    Apr 23 2025
On this episode of the SoulScape podcast, host Paul D. Lowe - International Celebrant – talks to Aimee Mosco about the conflicting feelings that arise when thinking about people celebrating themselves. KEY TAKEAWAYS My inner child in me shrinks when I hear the words “celebrating who I am”. Why? From a personal perspective I think of birthday parties or anniversaries, the socially acceptable celebration of oneself. I never liked my birthday when I was a kid and I think it’s because my mother almost died when I was born. There’s an opportunity to retrain these thoughts when you become aware of them so I’m seizing that today.A celebration is one thing, but who I am really sends me on a journey. I’ve noticed that when people are resistant to celebrating or talking about who they are, or looking deeply at what a label means, there’s a little piece that attached to self-worth (for good or bad) depending upon your experiences in life.Sometimes, when we say “this is who I am”, it’s sometimes contingent to the labels we put upon ourselves: I’m a man/woman/author/therapist. When we say “who am I” we really have to ask what that means: What makes me a man/woman/author/therapist? It’s a different perspective that invites you to look deeper and maybe shift the labels you use when you say “this is who I am.”There’s a place of vulnerability as we pass through on the road to “I am”, you have to look in the mirror and see every story that you’ve told yourself or has been told to you before you can reach a place of oneness with everything, everyone and the beyond BEST MOMENTS ‘It’s important to pay attention when you hear words like “a celebration of who I am”, it’s important to explore them and what it means to be a man/woman and what are the preconceived notions we have when we hear those words, and why'. ‘If we elevate beyond the ego every one of us is the same, we’re a divine being of light, there are no more questions to ask at that point, it’s a statement of fact'. ‘The goal is to learn when it’s most appropriate to be and when it’s most appropriate to do'. ‘Rather than celebrate the fact that you got a promotion/wrote another book, celebrate the fact you’re a divine being of light. That’s a training tool to bring you into a space of not being ruled by fear'. ABOUT THE GUEST Aimee Mosco is an author, intuitive channel and co-founder of Intentional Healing Systems, LLC. Over the course of 10 years, she developed a healing system called SACRED after mapping the components of the human energy field, based on channelled communications. She conducts practitioner certification for SACRED and teaches classes based on the system, as well as her books, ‘Gratitude + Forgiveness x (Love) = Happiness’ and ‘Daily Agreements, Guidelines & Intentions’. Aimee is a co-host of the global community group ‘Evolve Through Love’, and she works as an intuitive who specialises in facilitating healing of the body, heart, mind, and spirit. She has dedicated her journey to teaching others how to shift their beliefs, thoughts, and emotions to unearth innate personal power. • What Will They Say About You When You're Gone? - Paul D. Lowe & Rabbi Daniel Cohen
    Apr 3 2025

On this episode of the SoulScape Celebrations podcast, host Paul D. Lowe - International Celebrant - talks to Rabbi Daniel Cohen about his books, specifically ‘What Will They Say About You When You’re Gone: Creatinve a Life of Legacy’ as well as his career as a Rabbi.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • As you walk out of a funeral you have a moment where you say to yourself “I hope they speak about me the same way they spoke about that individual.” You leave thinking about doing what’s more important in life and how you want to be remembered. Generally, you’re motivated for about 15 minutes until you go back to life as usual.
    • Life isn’t meant to be a highlight film. Every day god puts us on the Earth we have something unique to accomplish. It really hit home for me on a personal level when my mother passed away sudden from a brain aneurism when she was 44. I learned that life can change in an instant. When I got to 44 I began to think a lot more deeply about if I was doing the most that I can with the life that god has given me to try to make a difference in the world around me.
    • You don’t have to believe in god, but I believe there’s something inside all of us, whether it’s a soul or some yearning to know that we matter, we not just here to eat, drink, be merry and die, that I need to love, be loved, be kind, unlock some beauty and sanctity in the world around me. All to often I think we fill our souls with junk food (social media, counterfeit pleasures) accomplishing a lot but not doing much. These things are still important, but what can you do today that’s worthy of future memory?
    • It’s important to know the distinction between exiting vs living. When somebody says: “What’s my goal in life?” That goal shouldn’t be being healthy, that’s a means to accomplishing something, but to be healthy without using the gift of health is missing a unique opportunity.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘I’ve always lived with a sense that life matters, to be grateful for every day, not to wait for a crisis: There’s no atheists in a fox hole.’
‘Life isn’t made up of days, it’s made up of moments'.

‘Anybody who enters my orbit should end up feeling better about themselves than when they entered that orbit'.

‘One of the most important things to be able to do in life is to make distinctions. To live a life of legacy means to be able to distinguish between really happiness vs pleasure'.
