Today on Sounds Of Brass.I Feature The North Carolina Brass Band. founded in 2014 and its 28-member instrumentation is closely aligned with that of the traditional British Brass Band. With its roots in Industrial Revolution-era England, brass bands are most commonly found in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. Through the North American Brass Band Association, the popularity of brass bands has been increasing steadily in the United States since the mid-late 20th century. The NCBB is excited to be a part of this movement and to share its rich tradition with audiences across the state.

    Oct 26 2024
Join me Rob Collinson for my show "A Postcard From The North East.I'm a composer/arranger based in County Durham. Although I'm entering my fiftieth year as a "bander" my work isn't exclusively for brass bands. Each hour-long show will have "featured" and "guest" bands, with the occasional "showcase" thrown into the mix. You'll hear familiar and not so familiar bands and music drawn from my personal experience. Look forward to your company.www.sounds-of-brass.co.uk
