Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who won this year's NBA championship. Unfortunately, the victory was marred by a first quarter injury to Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers. Hali tore his Achilles, and the wind was suddenly taken out of the season.

Of course, we're giving a little bit of attention to those things, too. Maybe we're part of the problem.

Plus, do you enjoy watching sports games when you already know the outcome? Or do you only want fresh results?

We watched Texas Tech softball pitcher NiJaree Canady doing fantastic things on the mound, yet the discourse was only around her name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal. We typically don't see this during men's sports. Funny how that works, isn't it?

Plus, Joey gives a recap on his adventures trying to get dumb promotional giveaways and items during his trip to Camden Yards and Nationals Park. What an ordeal—but worth it in the end.

ESPN canceled long-time program Around the Horn, a staple for both Sean and Joey during their formative years and into adulthood. The show had a terrific run, but we're more concerned with what ESPN is replacing it with: nothing of note.

We're running out of shows that highlight sports journalism and instead just want talking heads that can either break news or yell at each other. And sure, ATH had those moments of banter, as well, but it was often grounded with respect and journalistic integrity. It's going to be rough having less of that on the airwaves.

We're in the midst of NBA and NHL playoffs, and we've even got wacky events on ESPNEWS like the Tetris championships. Yet, it's the NFL that's got people buzzing because it has no shame about turning mundane offseason events into glorified news cycles.

Schedule release videos? Let's make 'em extravagant. Christmas Day games? Let's steal the NBA's thunder. Contract updates and player's offseason appearances? Let's dissect them until they crumble under the spotlight. It's just the silliest.
