In today's episode we introduce you to Jule Kurbjeweit, an arts professional working in diverse areas of the Lisbon arts community, she interested in the connection between art and individual well being, as well as collective and environmental sustainability.
Jule is the founder of LAR (Lisbon Art Retreat), which features workshops and retreats that bring together artistic and wellbeing practices with a focus on developing a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle – both in terms of mental health and the way we relate to our environment. She also passionate about working with villa villa, a platform advocating for sustainability in the arts, where she contributes to research and consulting. At maat – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (Lisbon), she is an editorial and research assistant for their ext.maat.pt program in addition to managing the museum's social media.
Jule shares with us about creating artistic practices as a form of meditation and space for the imagination: slowing down with no expectations, becoming present in the moment with ourselves, allowing for space for thoughts and feelings to arise - fundamentally opening space to be inspired and discover new possibilities for ourselves, culture and the environment.
