  • In March of 1692 the little village of Salem Massachusetts became a hotbed of lies, deception, and fear as a group of teenage girls went into convulsions and named selected locals as witches who were possessing them. The judge, the reverends, and most of the townspeople were caught up in the frenzy and fear and those who spoke up faced sure retribution. When the witch hunt started it gained momentum- and was at its worst when a four year old girl whose mother had already been accused was interrogated for two weeks until she finally broke down and admitted she was a witch so she could go to the gallows with her mother.
