  • Favorite Buffalo Bills Offseason Transaction
    May 9 2025

It's another edition of The Podbag on today's episode of Talking Buffalo, as Patrick Moran is responding to questions, comments and takes from listeners on several topics, including being asked what's his single favorite Buffalo Bills transaction move of the offseason.

Regardless of how you feel about the Bills offseason, it's indisputable that it's been a very busy one for general manager Brandon Beane and his staff. They've re-signed several of their own veterans to extensions, added a lot of free agents especially on the defensive side of the ball and added nine prospects via the NFL draft. So, which one is Patrick's personal favorite? He runs down a handful of moves that could be in the top spot before explaining why for him it's ultimately the addition of edge rusher Joey Bosa.

Also, it won't be long before wide receiver Gabe Davis finds a new home after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars and it's highly unlikely to be with the Buffalo Bills, but at least the possibility is there for right now and fans have plenty to say about that. Patrick has thoughts on people who land on either side of the fence.

Cole Bishop starting at safety, Joe Brady's brain fart at the most inopportune time last year and Dalton Kincaid needing to step up are also topics, as is the NHL playoffs making a fan hate the Buffalo Sabres even more.

That plus a food review on The Hoagie Stop on Clinton Street and much more.

Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it’s a great place to drink and have a great time.

Special thanks to local Buffalo band, Orange Zest for allowing us to use their awesome single, “Old Friends” as the new official intro music for Talking Buffalo. Check out Orange Zest and be sure to support not only them, but local music!

  • Interest In A Gabe Davis Reunion? (Plus, Sabres Stay Laughable)
    May 8 2025

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective for a conversation covering several Buffalo sports topics, including a potential Gabe Davis reunion with the Bills, the Sabres remaining laughable and a Bandits championship preview.

The Jacksonville Jaguars released Davis just one year after signing him to a three-year, $39 million deal. Naturally, talk on social media immediately began to pour in about a potential Davis return to the Bills. The guys discuss it and while so many factors make it feel (highly) unlikely, such as what the room already looks like and Gabe having zero special teams value, it's not something that should be ruled completely out until he signs with another team. Plus, would a Gabe return show a lack of confidence in the player it feels like they drafted to replace him to begin with in Keon Coleman?

Also, the Sabres announced Eric Staal is being hired to be a special assistant to general manager Kevyn Adams, who somehow reportedly is keeping his GM job and will return in the role for a sixth season. That coupled with a few other moves and rumored moves just has the guys laughing and of course, leads to yet another Patrick rant against the organization he considers the worst in all of professional sports. He's probably not alone---is the faith among the fan base quite literally the lowest it's ever been?

Thankfully Buffalo sports fans have the Bandits to root for (if you're not, you should be). PK covers the Bandits brilliantly for Buffalo Sports Collective and has plenty of insight as the team gets ready to try and win their third consecutive NLL championship that begins in Buffalo on Friday May 16th. That and plenty more.

  • 10 Buffalo Bills Predictions Before Week One
    May 7 2025

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over ten Buffalo Bills predictions he has that will play out between now and the Week one start of the 2025 NFL regular season.

It's never too early for predictions, even though we certainly reserve the right to change them at some point down the line. For now though, Patrick feels pretty good about 10 things he sees happening. Among those is a returning Tre White impressing enough during the summer to at least temporarily take back control of a starting cornerback job alongside Christian Benford, even with first-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston. As Patrick explains, it's no indictment against Hairston as much as a (hopefully) fully healthy Tre White having the experience and confidence from head coach Sean McDermott that he can put White in to begin the season while letting Hairston ease his way before eventually taking over.

Also, White's return felt great to a lot of Bills fans but between he and a trio of cornerback draft picks last month, the news isn't great for Dane Jackson, who Patrick predicts will have a second stint with the Bills that's short lived.

James Cook likely won't get any extension in 2025 and almost certainly not before the season but Patrick doesn't think Cook's going to be an issue going into training camp in July. He does see another Bills veteran getting inked to an extension before the season starts. That plus a potentially big camp battle at safety, an unheralded rookie from last year Patrick thinks can take a big step in 2025 and much more.

  • Brandon Beane's Biggest Bills Misses
    May 6 2025

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren (SB Nation) to discuss the Buffalo Bills and more specifically, dissect some of the worst decisions of Brandon Beane through his tenure so far as Bills general manager.

So it's clear in the show notes just as it was said repeatedly on the podcast---this is not meant to be an indictment of Beane. The guys both think by and large Beane has done a fantastic job not just building the Bills roster but keeping them in a position to consistently challenge for a championship every season. He's made a lot more good decisions than bad ones. That said, the guys are diggig into and discussing the latter.

From three early round draft picks who flamed out quickly, to a handful of free agent signings that didn't turn out the way Beane hoped, a few regretful contract extensions and a pair of trades Beane probably wishes he had back, Beane's not above being criticized.

They also discuss the offseasons of two AFC rivals, Baltimore and Cincinnati.

  • Tracking Beane’s WR History With the Bills
    May 5 2025

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss several topics, including a full examination of everything Brandon Beane has done as Buffalo Bills GM when it comes to the rostering of wide receivers.

Last week was a pretty controversial one for Beane after he went on WGR and immediately got after radio hosts Jeremy White and Joe Dibiase for Beane considers a lot of complaining about the Bills not doing enough at wide receiver. Besides discussing Beane's radio appearance and attitude regarding the issue, the guys dive into every move that Beane has made when it comes to wide receiver since becoming the general manager in 2017. They go through the list and discuss every receiver the Bills have drafted, signed as a free agent or traded for under the Beane regime. Spoiler alert---Patrick's more impressed with the history and list than Joe is.

They also talk about Beane's most recent one-on-one interview with Tyler Dunne over at Go Long and are yet again impressed with Dunne's ability to not only get Beane for a full hour sit down but several pretty candid if not tough questions asked by Dunne in the piece.

That plus Joe's True or False segment, another Patrick Mt. Flushmore edition and tons more.

  • Where The Bills 2024 Draft Class Stands, One Year Later
    May 2 2025

It’s another edition of The Podbag on this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran responds to questions, comments and takes submitted by fans, consisting this week of all Buffalo Bills and including where the 2024 Bills draft class stands one year later.

It’s near impossible to tell if a draft class will ultimately pan out well or not after just one year and this past one was no exception, but there’s certainly clues. Patrick discusses how opportunity still knocks big time for the first two picks, Keon Coleman and Cole Bishop and how they could carry roles significant to the success of the 2025 Bills. Conversely, even after just one year it’s getting harder to see a clear path for third round pick Dewayne Carter getting consistent playing time after Brandon Beane traded up for defensive tackles two times in the first four rounds last week. Ray Davis seems pretty locked into the same role he had in 2024, at least for this season while the others from the 2024 class are pretty locked into roster depth, though Patrick has some decently high hopes for Javon Solomon.

Also, the Bills signed wide receiver Elijah Moore on Wednesday and Patrick thinks it’s a very good move, especially for this time of the offseason. It also alleviates or at least should some of the frustration of the Bills not taking a wide receiver before the seventh round last week and let’s not forget—Moore just turned 25 years old.

Patrick also responds to takes involving first-round cornerback Max Hairston, people who think trading up for TJ Sanders was dumb, if Damar Hamlin’s roster spot could be in trouble and some perhaps going overboard on the Kansas City praising. That plus a few thoughts on yesterday’s show with Bills superfan Tommy Parzymieso and much more.

  • Bills Superfan Tommy Parzymieso (LIVE From Imperial)
    May 1 2025

On this special episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by 16-year old Buffalo Bills superfan Tommy Parzymieso to discuss both his challenges and recent incredible moment, announcing the Bills first-round pick at the NFL Draft last week in Green Bay. The episode is recorded live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.

Born and raised in Orchard Park, Tommy at age 2 was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a very rare genetic muscle wasting disorder affecting his muscles and heart as well as his lungs. As a result of his skeletal muscles being weak, he's reliant on an electric wheelchair full time to get around. But that hasn't stopped this young man's unbelievable spirt and love for sports.

Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Tommy was along with his family was given a personalized tour of the Bills facility a couple of weeks before the draft. Tommy knew about that and that he'd be getting the chance to meet Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane. What he didn't know was that Beane was going to surprise him and ask Tommy to travel to Green Bay and announce Buffalo's first pick in front a huge live audience. Tommy documents the entire experience.

Tommy also talks about his favorite team, why last year's first pick Keon Coleman is his favorite player, his dream of being a football coach someday, his family and plenty more.

Tommy and his family will be hosting a "Team Tommy" fundraising event that takes place this Saturday, May 3rd, being held at the Wings Meeting Place in Orchard Park, not far from Highmark Stadium. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help improve modifications needed inside their home, specialized equipment and other resources that can help Tommy continue his quality of life for years to come. Please consider supporting the event.

Big shout-out and thank you once again to Imperial Pizza for being a gracious host and for their excellent wings. They now have two locations, 1035 Abbott Road and also 1665 Main Street

  • Bills & NFL Biggest Draft Takeaways
    Apr 30 2025

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to go over some of their biggest Buffalo Bills and NFL draft takeaways after a handful of days to full digest everything that happened.

When it was all said and done, the Bills ended up making nine picks and among them were two trade ups, both for defensive tackles. The guys offer their thoughts on each and how they may fit in and while going into the draft it felt unrealistic every draft pick could make the roster, Patrick actually believes there's a feasible case for each of them to make the team. If nothing else it feels the competition for roster spots in Rochester at training camp this summer should be far livelier than a year ago.

Also, the Buffalo sports world is still buzzing over Bills general manager Brandon Beane's fiesty appearance on WGR 500 Monday morning when he blasted cohosts Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase for complaining that the Bills haven't done enough at wide receiver. It's led to strong reaction on both sides of the fence from fans and the guys offer their opinions on that.

Speaking of wide receiver, Matt offers his take on if people are sleeping on free agent signee Josh Palmer and if the team has done enough to address the depth at the position.

That plus several takeaways on the draft hauls for teams around the league, including the AFC east and plenty more.
