  • In the Lab with Krunch Time
    Aug 23 2021
We sit down with Greg "Krunch Time" Howell to talk about the power, purity and plural paths of performance.   Meet the poet-  Born Greg Howell to Melany Howell and the late great Greg Harrs, Greg is better known by his stage name KrunchTime. He hails from a small town in southeast Oklahoma called Idabel! This is where he got most of his practice; growing up in the country with a big family you are your own entertainment.  As as young man, he remembers his mother would make him reenact movies, perform songs, and do a Michael Jackson dance on cue. He credits his mom for his love for comedy, writing, rapping, and entertaining.  At 31 years old, Greg is the father of a 12 year old young man and keeps the tradition going by putting him through the entertainment ringer whenever family is around.   In 2006, Greg won the Pulitzer Prize in the poetry category for his poem "Reason's Why," which is also published. In 2017 he became a "3X Dope" poet and shared the stage with world renowned Ed Mabrey and Obbie West.  Greg made his screen debut in 2020 with his role as Gary Mason in the thriller/slasher "The Suffering" which is streaming on YouTube. In it, he played a boisterous flirt who is always the life of the party, a role that might almost seem typecasting. Look out for Greg in the year 2021 where he will be a reoccurring character in the TV series "Just Kattin'." Currently you can find Greg on a slew of stages and most social media outlets posting various videos or writings using comedy to tackle hard topics and conversations.   Reach the poet- IG: kodakphresh To book: Krunchtime4@gmail.com       Follow The Bear's Den -  IG: @the_bears_den_poetry_podcast YouTube: The Bear's Den Poetry Podcast - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCybqIwr-3VZiqCFnatbOKMg   Bear's books and merch -  www.inkthinkpress.com   Support the Bear - CashApp: $Bearism
