  • Common Ground: Political Differences Don't Have to Define Us
    Sep 19 2024
Former President Trump has faced another assassination attempt, as political violence in America continues to be an alarming issue. The founder and CEO of 'UNITE,' a group that analyzes political rhetoric on both sides, Tim Shriver joins Bret on this special edition of Common Ground to discuss why Americans must realize it's contempt, not differences that are driving us apart, and why restoring civility and dignity in the U.S. should be a societal priority. He also shares how political division has impacted his own life as a member of the Kennedy family. Follow Bret on X: @BretBaier Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • All-Star Panel: How Can Political Violence Be Addressed On Capitol Hill?
    Sep 17 2024
Former President Donald Trump is back on the campaign trail this week despite facing another assassination attempt while at his West Palm Beach golf course on Sunday. The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, is now in custody, though his motives and how he came into such proximity remain in question. This leaves Americans asking two questions: why are we seeing this stark surge in political violence, and what could be done on Capitol Hill to address it? Bret sits down with Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Member Bill McGurn, FOX News Political Analyst Juan Williams, and FOX News Audio Political Anchor and Washington Correspondent Jared Halpern to discuss the political rhetoric and blame-shifting that's stemming from this latest attempt, and what's happening overseas as tensions between Ukraine and Russia worsen. • Common Ground: Honoring Fallen Heroes On Capitol Hill
    Sep 12 2024
On the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Americans across the country are coming together to remember the lives lost that day and reflect on the importance of unity, patriotism, and bipartisanship that allowed us to rebuild after the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. Congressman Pat Ryan (D-NY) and Congressman John James (R-MI) joined Bret on the anniversary of 9/11 to discuss what that day in 2001 was like for them as West Point cadets, the impact the attacks have had on their lives and careers, and why they're working on Capitol Hill to designate this week as 'Patriot Week,' in honor of those we lost and as a reminder of what this country stands for. Refreshing off the beaten narrative

Great to hear a different perspective. I'm used to experiencing and seeing something completely different from the narratives provided on the university campus.
