  • 325 - Raising Strong-Willed Kids Without Losing Your Mind with Wendy Snyder of Fresh Start Family
    Jan 31 2025

Ever feel like your strong-willed child came into this world with a law degree and a mission to challenge everything you say? 😅

If you’re exhausted from the power struggles and wondering why your go-to parenting tactics aren’t working anymore, this episode is a must-listen.

Today, I’m joined by Wendy Snyder, certified positive parenting educator and host of The Fresh Start Family Show, to talk about how to parent strong-willed kids with connection instead of control.

Because let’s be real—yelling, threats, and punishments might get short-term compliance, but at what cost?

If you want to raise confident, respectful, and emotionally intelligent kids without constantly feeling like the bad guy, Wendy’s got the mindset shifts and practical tools you need.

Here’s what you’ll learn in this episode:

    • 🔥 Why strong-willed kids push back so hard—and why that’s actually a GOOD thing
    • 🔥 How to shift from reactive to responsive parenting (so you stop snapping and start leading)
    • 🔥 What to do instead of threats, yelling, or punishment when your kid just won’t listen
    • 🔥 Why “discipline” doesn’t mean “control” and how to set limits that actually work

Wendy’s approach is all about teaching your kids important life skills while strengthening your bond with them—so you can stop dreading the next meltdown and start feeling more calm, confident, and in control (without the guilt).

Ready for parenting to feel lighter? Hit play, friend!

Down to earth

I just finished the first episode and I’m so excited for you to be apart of my morning routine. I started with Mel Robbin’s and here I am because my anxiety over being to annoyed by my kids led me here. Just by the first episode I felt like you were in the room with me like a friend just saying what works for you. So excited to learn from you!
