You might remember a sarcastic phrase from social media a few years back; The Struggle is Real. That phrase more or less poked fun at problems or struggles that were somewhat trivial compared to the big picture of life. The truth is, though, that all of us do face real struggles in life. Ben Cachiaras, the lead minister with Mountain Christian Church, and their 4 campuses located just outside of Baltimore, Maryland is our teacher, this month. Ben is unpacking the reality of life’s struggles and how turning to THE Shepherd can make all the difference in the world. So, most of us are somewhat familiar with the 23rd Psalm. But in today’s message Ben is going to challenge our perspectives. The statement I shall not want can mean many things to many people, but try this on for size, the writer of the 23rd Psalm meant it as a statement of faith. Curious for the explanation? here’s Ben. • Stronger in the Lord
    Aug 22 2024
Okay if you tell someone Be Strong that statement has implications. You are in essence saying to that person they have a say in whether or not they choose to remain in a state of weakness or strength. The condition demands a decision. It fits with what our speaker this month has been contending; that strength is both a grace and a choice. Our teacher this month is Rick Atchley and the series is entitled Stronger. Rick Atchley is the lead minister with The Hills Church in Fort Worth Texas with multiple campuses in the Dallas, Fort Worth area and beyond. In today’s message; the Bible says our real fight in this world is a spiritual battle. Rick today unpacks how being strong or being empowered made possible when we put the blame where it belongs, when we put on our strong suit, and when we put Jesus name on everyone and everything. • Grace is Stronger
    Aug 15 2024
Here is a bold statement: All the bad in this world we have to deal with is not from God, it is the result of our sin, bringing down the perfect world God created for us. In today’s message, our speaker Rick Atchley contends that most of the struggles that weaken us are simply the fallout of living in a marred creation. In fact, Rick says since weakness is a consequence of darkness, it should never be met with passive meekness ! Our speaker this month is Rick Atchley. Rick is the lead pastor with The Hills Church with multiple campuses in the Fort Worth, Texas area and beyond. This month’s series is entitled Strong and we’re unpacking how Strength is both a grace and a choice. It is a gift from God, and it is a pursuit of those who live in fellowship with God. The Bible tells us to be strong in the Lord, and in this series we are exploring how we can receive the gift and make THE choice. • Got Strength?
    Aug 1 2024
My wife and I enjoy camping and hiking in the mountains of Colorado. It is such a contrast to the Midwest where we make our home. Hiking in the high altitudes gets harder with each passing year, and my energy, my stamina, my strength runs out much sooner than it used to. Over the next few weeks Rick Atchley will be leading us in a study of Strength, a series entitled Stronger. Rick is the lead pastor with the Hill’s Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Today’s message is entitled Got Strength? So many aspects of life require various kinds of strength, stamina, energy, and our Spiritual Lives are no different. Life is hard and Spiritual energy runs out, we need to be renewed. So, with a prescription for God’s spiritual vitamins, here’s Rick. • When Pride Becomes Pretending
    Jul 25 2024
Ever pretend when you were growing up? My toys for me were a window into a pretend world. I could be a farmer driving his tractor, a truck driver driving his big rig, a pilot flying to anyplace in the world. Perhaps you might have pretended to be a Princess, a King, a Cowboy or Cowgirl. Childhood pretenses are one thing but pretending as an adult, can be devastating. In today’s message, Aaron Brockett, lead minister with Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, unpacks what happens when pride becomes pretending and the ways it can destroy lives. So, with a lesson from God’s word on what special seats, phylacteries, tassels, hypocrites, and pride all have in common, here’s Aaron To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/326/29

  • The Empty Promises of Pride
    Jul 18 2024
Every single one of us has a vulnerability or weakness in our character that, left unchecked, can and will bring down our relationships, reputation, and influence. That weakness is pride where pride is an unhealthy preoccupation with self. This week, Aaron Brockett, preaching minister at Trader’s Point Christian Church with multiple campuses in Indianapolis, IN, shares insights into the root of nearly every sin struggle we have. You might be surprised to learn that scripture makes it clear that God hates pride. His hatred is not without reason, He knows pride is at the root of nearly every sin struggle we have, and that explains why the Bible relates one of the most loving things God does for us is oppose pride in our lives. So, here’s Aaron with insight into how there is freedom in letting go of pride, embracing humility, and acknowledging our need for God in everything we do To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/326/29
