  • The Trap: Part 2
    May 26 2025

This week on The Dating Detectives, we meet Sandra, an accomplished counselor whose relationship began with friendship, trust, and late-night heart-to-hearts during the pandemic. But what started as a slow-burn romance with a charming EMT quickly spiraled into a web of lies, emotional manipulation, financial devastation, and ultimately, physical violence. In Part 2 of this two-part series, Sandra bravely walks us through the gradual erosion of reality that left her questioning everything, including her own sanity. It’s a textbook case of how abusers groom, isolate, and control, layer by layer, and a powerful reminder that trusting your instincts isn’t just important, it can be life-saving.

This is so entertaining and a great listen as well. If you’re looking for something where they spill the tea with some detective work and share some dating safety tips then you’ll love this podcast.

PI Spilling the Tea??? Ummm…Yes!!!

I very much enjoy the podcast and look forward to weekly episodes. The hosts are very entertaining and I love how the stories are sometimes hers and sometimes guests.

I like this podcast it’s super entertaining and overall gives you lots of things to look out for. McKenzie’s PI stories are some of my favorite content for sure. What I don’t like is how the ladies, mostly Hannah, over talk guests when they are telling their stories. It can become annoying when they interject with an unnecessary“jokey comment” right in the middle of someone’s sentence. When they interject with serious questions or clarifying questions it’s fine. I think they should weigh the importance of their comments because it can be so distracting. I also don’t like their double standard. If women or someone in the LGBTQ community do something shady, they seem to make excuses for their behavior and give them a ton of grace, but if a straight man does it, he’s the worst person on earth. A liar is a liar and a cheater is a cheater, doesn’t matter what your reason is. Just my opinion. Overall I enjoy it and like the work the ladies are doing to educate us all, especially those on the dating scene.

I like it but…
