    The Gallop welcomes on Cal Poly Men's Soccer captain Nicky McCune for this episode. McCune captained the Mustangs to their first ever Big West regular season title and was named First-Team All Big West, boasting the third best save rate amongst all NCAA goalies. During his dominant Big West season, McCune only conceded four goals while putting up eight clean sheets. Accompanying Nick Bandanza on the interview is Mustang News men's soccer reporter Mathew Muren.

  • Episode 16: Kobe Sanders (Cal Poly Basketball)

    Kobe Sanders was third in the Big West conference in scoring for the 2023-2024 season, averaging 19.6 points per game. This includes a five-game streak to close out the season, where Kobe averaged an impressive 28.4 points per game.

    Kobe blossomed into one of Cal Poly's greatest players in recent memory, but as of April announced he had chosen to transfer to the University of Nevada to play for the Wolfpack.

    In this episode, Matt and Nick go in-depth with Kobe on the details of the transfer portal process. We also hear from Kobe on how to cope with being the best players of a historically bad basketball team like the 2024 Cal Poly Mustangs.

    On this episode of The Gallop, the boys talk with the legendary Joe Yorke. He talks about cultivating a hard-working culture within a team, how his first college cancelled their baseball program, and how the Los Angeles Angels messed up the Shohei Ohtani situation.

    Yorke is the fan-favorite senior first baseman who is Cal Poly's all-time career RBI leader, a feat he reached this season. During his time as a Mustang, Yorke has a career .297 batting average, 174 RBIs, and 44 doubles.

    This episode interviews Izzy Martinez and Ella Connor, two stars from our beach volleyball team that is currently ranked as the sixth-best school in the nation.

    Izzy is a sophomore, and Ella is a redshirt sophomore. Together they make our number one pairing! The two have a 19-4 record together in their first season playing together, and currently are on a 13 match individual win streak.
