About this listen

Colin Salmon and Stephen Fry star in this brand new adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes adventure, The Hound of the Baskervilles, reinterpreted as a dark folk horror by best-selling authors George Mann and Cavan Scott.

An ancient curse has awoken on Dartmoor, the members of the Baskerville family hunted by a spectral hound of Hell. With Sherlock Holmes busy in London, Doctor John Watson is sent to protect the new lord of the manor as fear and superstition run wild in the ancient countryside. Can Watson overcome his own terror to discover the truth behind the legend before the hound strikes again?

I rank this adaptation and production as the best audio dramatization of the Hound of the Baskervilles yet made.
From Basil Rathbone, to Carlton Hobbes and Clive Merrison and anything in between, this version is on par and even better.
It just breath fresh invigorating new life to an already well known story.
A big thanks and bravo to everyone involved in this version.
Simply amazing!!

2 of the best for voicing Holmes and Watson! I've previously enjoyed this story by initially reading and then listening (via audible - 1 narrator), but this multi-cast version is my favorite by far. I will probably listen to this again in the future.

Fry & Salmon -Superb!

Everything you could want from a Sherlock story. Even when you know the story. Wonderfully atmospheric. Loved it.

This is a wonderful audio adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes story. An excellent production and superb cast bring this eerie tale to life. Wit, wisdom and devilry abound. I hope they do more of these stories. Very enjoyable.

Thrilling Adaptation of the Holmes Classic

I was initially annoyed that Stephen Fry wasn’t Holmes, as he has narrated Doyle before and had a good tone for both voices. Then I actually listened to it, and Fry was perfect for Watson because of how expressive he is. Literally laughed out loud at parts. The gentleman who narrated Holmes is perfectly cast as well. Good narrators are half the battle with these things so wanted to compliment the casting.
