Would you ever think that the words “Jesus” or “Father” would be “offensive” or “controversial”?
Well, they were to 26 Democrats in the House of Representatives, who wrote a letter condemning Pastor Jack Hibbs, who was invited by the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, to give the morning prayer.
In this week’s podcast (free and no download required), Shelly and I sat down for a special interview with Pastor Jack Hibbs to discuss the Harris administration’s war on Christians and their attempt to erase God from the public square and how Christians can fight back and win the country back.
I asked Pastor Hibbs why Democrats were so offended, calling him a “Jew-hater” and a “Muslim-hater” …
“My prayer was mild compared to past prayers,” Hibbs said. “Those 26 Democrats not only didn’t like the prayer, but they also had no knowledge of the Chaplaincy program that Ben Franklin started with John Adams or that part of my prayer came from one of President Lincoln’s speeches.”
“The First Great Awakening sparked the American Revolution, and the Second Great Awakening sparked the abolition of slavery all started from the church,” I said. “But today’s pastors aren’t talking about politics or current events and how they relate to the Word of God… why?”
“They should be,” Hibbs said. You’d think they’d want to be relevant—They should steward the vote for the Glory of God. In 2022, Nancy Pelosi lost her job, thanks to the efforts of you and Shelly… getting pastors and churches involved… and through your Voter Guide. If God is going to save the nation, it’s because Pastors speak out.”
