About this listen
In this episode, Swami Vivekananda mentions about beliefs of Indian culture citing an example from the epic Maha Bharatha.
In the World's Parliament of Religions, Swami Vivekananda got a standing ovation for two minutes from over seven thousand participants for his opening salutation - "Sisters and brothers of America!". Though he landed in America to participate in the event, he had struggled so much to be able to get an opportunity to speak.
Swami Vivekananda gave a short introduction of Hinduism and spoke on "The meaning of the Hindu religion". He shared his knowledge of the Vedanta philosophy, the concept of god, soul and body in Hinduism. This speech certainly made a big change in perception of India and Hinduism in West.
