  • S2 E10: The Deadly Disparity of COVID-19; THE FINAL STRAW?
    May 21 2020

The disaster unleashed by the COVID-19 ‘Monster of Dread’ has exposed the ugly underbelly of the American way. The devastation produced by this novel coronavirus has displayed to the world the most revolting sight of all: the disproportionate, and very heavy death toll the ‘Monster of Dread’ is taking on people of color in general, and African Americans in particular.

History has shown that when a civilization changes direction, it is often because of a phenomenon known as a critical juncture. Something so significant occurred, something so disastrous or momentous happened, that society would be forever altered. And though I can’t be sure how the Covid-19 pandemic will play out, I can say that this is one of those critical junctures, especially if you like me are black in America. What we do next, will determine our fate. What we choose to do together now will form the future. What we change today will make it better for our children and theirs.

  • S1 E7: RODERICA and FRANCINA, ‘SISTER POWER’ IN MOTION
    Aug 5 2019

Season 1 Episode 7:  Roderica and Francina James are the female equivalent of Batman and Robin; a dynamic duo unafraid to take big risks, overcome huge obstacles, confident in their ability to succeed despite the odds, and capable of devising ingenious strategies to pull off audacious (some might say bodacious) feats of achievement!

Their latest accomplishment could be their most impressive yet; acquiring, renovating and refurbishing an old, faded relic of a building into The Cochrane House Historic Luxury Inn! ‘The Cochrane House’ has become a “must stay” Bed & Breakfast and Special Events Venue, located smack dab in the middle of Detroit’s lucrative Entertainment District.

The James Sisters; two girls from Detroit who grew to become Entrepreneurs, Developers and Change-Agents illustrate clearly what Jeffrey Miller means when he says: “entrepreneurship is the best way forward for people hungry to taste a piece of the American Dream”!
