I tried everything to keep my little tree alive. I babied it, I spent money on it, I went above and beyond to try to save it, and none of it was working.

How often do we see this in relationships that we have? Where they take so much work, time, money, and effort, and it just isn't working.

Man, it has been a rough few weeks for me and if I could be honest, it's been a rough month. Life has been busier than usual and I feel it in every aspect of my life. This last week, I got hit hard with the "mom guilt" and I want to talk to you about it.

It is a very real thing that we feel from time to time and it is ok to feel that but what is more important is to take a step back and hold it captive. At the end of the day, our blessings are greater than our guilt and we need to remember that.

I love teaching my kids all kinds of life lessons, but I love even more when they teach me. The other day, I had an experience with my two-year-old and she taught me a good lesson that I needed right now, and I thought maybe you do as well!

Have you ever felt called to become a foster mom or a foster dad?

For me personally, I did not. I did not feel called to go that way when we were on our adoption journey and I did not feel called to go back into the system after we received our adopted daughter two years ago.

However, I have been feeling this tug at my heart to re-posture it and think about it through a different lens. One without gobs of paperwork, making sure my home is perfect, or waiting for someone to approve me to love on other kids.

I am becoming a foster mom in my own way and I want to encourage you to listen to this episode. We owe it to the kids God puts in our paths to love on them and foster them well.

I hope this episode challenges your very much just as it has challenged me.
