  • Breaking Free: Neil Strauss on Healing Trauma to Build Authentic Love | Ep59
    Nov 18 2024
Sometimes, love and relationships aren’t as straightforward as we’d like them to be. This week, we sat down with Neil Strauss—a famous Writer for the Rolling Stone magazine and New York Times Bestselling Author, known for his thought-provoking works, including "The Game" and "The Truth," and for pulling back the curtain on what really goes on beneath the surface of love and connection. Neil opened up about his personal journey, from the world of pick-up artistry to his quest for something deeper and real. If you’ve ever wondered why relationships can feel so intense or why it’s hard to trust, you’re going to find so much in his story that hits home. We didn’t hold back in this episode, diving straight into the fears we all carry about love and why those fears often drive us in directions we don’t expect. Neil’s perspective on attachment styles and the impact of our past experiences is not only eye-opening but also deeply validating. You’ll hear us share our own struggles with trusting intentions in relationships, especially when the past is hard to shake. Neil’s wisdom brings a whole new understanding of how we can transform those old patterns and finally find peace with our needs. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your own emotions in relationships or just can’t seem to find someone who “gets” you, this episode is for you. Neil’s stories, advice, and raw honesty left us inspired and ready to take on love with a fresh perspective. Join us for a deep, unforgettable conversation on love, trust, and the power of vulnerability. Key Timestamps [00:02:52] Transition from pick-up artistry. Memorable Quotes "You can tell a trauma is at work or there's something you need to heal if you have the exact opposite result of your intention. Meaning that my intention is to make sure I don't get abandoned, but my behavior is getting me abandoned."– Neil Strauss "Sadness, pain, anger, hurt, love, all those things are feelings, but a thought would be betrayed. Like, what is the feeling of being betrayed? When you're betrayed, when you imagine, when you make up that you're betrayed, you feel sad. So, you want to be careful not to make accusations as feelings, like betrayed and disrespected. A lot of times someone might feel disrespected, but the person didn't tend to disrespect." – Neil Strauss Where to Find Our Guest Website: https://www.neilstrauss.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/neil_strauss/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilstrauss Twitter (X): https://x.com/neilstrauss To stay connected and to learn more about Vishen and Mindvalley, click on the links below: Website: https://www.mindvalley.com/about YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/vishenlakhiani Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindvalley/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vishen/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mindvalley Subscribe to 'Mindvalley Membership' to discover 65+ transformational Mindvalley programs – at a surprisingly low annual fee here 👉 https://go.mindvalley.com/NOW Produced by Evolved Podcasting: www.evolvedpodcasting.com Learn more about your ad choices. • Why Every Great Love Story Needs Conflict: Lessons From Powerful Couples | Ep 58
    Nov 11 2024
Intimacy can be transformative, but what happens when we make it sacred? This episode dives into the raw, transformative power of sacred sexuality through the stories of three couples who’ve been through it all—breakups, reunions, and those messy, beautiful moments that define a relationship. They’re sharing how rituals and shared practices have not only strengthened their bonds but helped them navigate conflict in a way that feels... well, sacred. Whether you're coupled up or just curious about deeper love, this one will make you see connection in a whole new light. When it comes to conflict, these couples are refreshingly honest, offering a glimpse into the ways they tackle tough times together. They’ll talk you through some seriously cool approaches to handling disagreements—think “calls to greatness” instead of arguments. It’s all about building something that feels safe, respected, and still exciting. They’re not just sharing tips—they’re giving a genuine look at what it takes to build trust, feel seen, and truly support each other. It’s the kind of understanding that goes beyond advice and into the heart of what makes love last. And, in perhaps the most beautiful part, they explore what “home” means in a relationship—a feeling of joy, safety, and shared purpose that isn’t easy to put into words but is felt deeply. Whether you’re partnered or single, these stories will get you thinking about love, connection, and how we all crave that deeper sense of belonging. Memorable Quotes: "Get rid of the idea that sex is only about pleasure because sex is about life itself. And so if you want full spectrum aliveness, you have to open yourself into a portal of sexuality that allows you to express the fullness of your being."– Layla Martin "Sacred sexuality is… instead of needing to look outside for that aliveness, you really get to find it in your partnership—and it's because of the partnership, and the safety of your partnership that you get to then go so deep." – Johann Urb "Once your kids... your children come into the world, then you understand the word compromise—because your life changes for them, as well as for each other, because you have to help make each other better parents and be there for each other." – Richard Schiff Where to Find Our Guests: Layla Martin’s Website: https://laylamartin.com/ Dr. Baback Amen’s Website: https://www.dramenfunctional.com/ Sheila Kelley’s Website: https://bysheilakelley.com/ Richard Schiff’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therichardschiff Rachel Pringle Urb’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/positivepringle Johann Urb’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/urbjohann To stay connected and to learn more about Vishen and Mindvalley, click on the links below: Website: https://www.mindvalley.com/about YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/vishenlakhiani Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindvalley/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vishen/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mindvalley Subscribe to 'Mindvalley Membership' to discover 65+ transformational Mindvalley programs – at a surprisingly low annual fee here 👉 https://go.mindvalley.com/NOW Produced by Evolved Podcasting: www.evolvedpodcasting.com Learn more about your ad choices. Knowledge, know your body

I came across Mind Valley by accident searching for non invasive treatments to manage my menorrhagia, Polycistic ovarian syndrome, peri menopause hormonal imbalances, migraines and etc. Then, this podcast with powerful topics like FlowLiving by Alissa Vitti. I’ve come to the right place to understand the root of the problem and how I can manage it. My GYN doc. has recommended invasive surgical procedures as the solution to “my problems” but the more I researched, the more convinced I’ve become that I don’t want to onset additional symptoms or side effects from traditional methods. Knowledge, knowledge is the key to understand the fundamentals of how your body works. And that every woman is different and there is no “one-size fit” all solution. Thank you for covering this topic on women’s wellness and hormones.

Great mind

Dr Gabor Mate is one of the greatest teachers of our time. This interview was very enlightening. I wish the interviewer was more conversational and connected instead of Q&A style.
Overall, great insights from Dr Mate.
