Welcome to the first episode of the brand new podcast called No Black No Jews.
This podcast aims to be a platform for dialogue surrounding race and identity in the UK through the eyes of two friends and journalists, Funmi Olutoye and Dan Freedman. Both come from Black and Jewish communities respectively and aim to explore what each of their identities mean in 21st century Britain.
There will be many differences but also many similarities that bring these two distinct communities together. The podcast will explore through discussion, debate, special interviews, analysis of current affairs and news stories in the media.
The idea of the podcast name came the days of 1950s/1960s Britain where xenophobic signage "No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs", would be placed on windows to bar particular customers from coming in.
