    Nov 21 2024

ITS ELECTION TIME! During this election, November 4th, 2025, it is critical that we all remember that at the end of the day, we are all on the same team, team USA, team humanity. In this episode of the Perspicacity Podcast, Patrick Monahan, PhD in Quantitative Psychometrics and Biostatistics uses his expertise in Behavior Science to help us understand why liberals and conservatives need each other, understand our differences, and understand our similarities. Patrick Monahan Bio: Patrick Monahan, PhD, is a behavior scientist, quantitative psychometrician, biostatistician, and a tenured professor in a Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at a large university. Just like podcast https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/001, #,002 and https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/003 arguably just as important as the content itself, this podcast serves as the 4th repetition of the many needed, for me to understand the intricacies of catalyzing compelling conversation. The end goal for this podcast is to maximize the following metrics: -To add genuine value to listeners with calls to action and deployable concepts, to comedic relief as a byproduct of hearing new perspectives. • To apply pressures on society to improve the standing of our culture through the growth and improvement of individuals. Its time to escape the forces that suppress our thoughts and hold us back. On the Perspicacity Podcast and on Xavier Baum's channel at large, guests and audiences join together as one. • #002 Dr. David Henley - Psychiatrist on The Human Continuum, Will Power, and Tolerance
    Mar 6 2023

For more content by Dr. David Henley, check out the "Its a Brain Thing" video series here: http://www.indianapsychiatricsociety.org/its-a-brain-thing/

The Perspicacity Podcast #002 Dr. David Henley

In this podcast I talk to Dr. Henley about common misconceptions about the brain, will power, dopamine, and automated void filling as well as build some baseline frameworks around the brain with the goal of having more focused, in depth conversations in the future.

Just like podcast #001, arguably more important than the content itself, this podcast serves as the second repetition of the many needed, for me to understand the intricacies of hardware, production, video and audio editing and all other things content creation. The main criticism I have for myself in this conversation is that I prioritized thinking about how to maneuver the conversation over being in the moment ad listening to what Dr. Henley was saying. The consequence is a few very good questions and conversations left on the table. Again, through these reps, I am learning what I don't know. My goals for the return of Dr. Henley on the Perspicacity Podcast are to dive deeper into topics that are infinitely applicable to viewers. So far I am thinking about a deeper dive on sleep, dopamine resets, the free will argument, depression and loss of motivation, and the role of evolutionary biology.

The end goal for this podcast is to maximize the following metrics:

-To add genuine value to listeners with calls to action and deployable concepts, to comedic relief as a byproduct of hearing new perspectives.

    - To apply pressures on society to improve the standing of our culture through the growth and improvement of individuals.

Its time to escape the forces that suppress our thoughts and hold us back.
