  • Zach Meerkreebs- on having a front row seat at the Asbury Outpouring
    Jun 5 2025
In 2023 Zach Meerkreebs gave a sermon at a small university chapel in Kentucky. What followed was a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit the like of which would be talked about in Christian circles for years. The sermon was about God's love and the audience was simply a small group of students. Afterwards Meerkreebs texted his wife to say that he didn't think it had gone well. But what followed was 16-days of spiritual awakening at Asbury University. At its peak 15,000 people were attending per day. Many committed their lives to God and people even flew in from around the world to join in the experience. Zach Meerkreebs was born and raised in an orthodox Jewish home in Colorado Springs and says he experienced a tumultuous upbringing which included his parents' divorce. At 16, after attending a Bible study and witnessed to by friends, he committed his life to Christ and followed a calling to the ministry. Since then, Zach has been involved in church planting, missionary work, college ministry, and leadership development. He has served as a college pastor and spiritual leadership director, focusing on mentoring emerging leaders. Zach's new book is called Lower: Igniting Spiritual Awakening Through Radical Humility. In it he shares his experiences at the Outpouring, the talk of revival and what serious radical humility can achieve.
