• Why doesn't our character change?
    May 12 2025

Character is important to whom God wants us to be. We are called to have the image of Christ. But many do not, even though they know they should.

What stops people from character change? Romans 5 talks about how we should glory in our suffering because it leads to perseverance, perseverance leads to character change and character change ultimately leads to hope.

Because we lack a hope in God, we don't develop our character. We can't be kind because we don't know if it will work out. We can't be patient because will God come through?

We consider these thoughts and more this week. We pray the sermon blesses you. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please reach out to us at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Hope you have a great week!

  • How do we handle hopelessness?
    May 5 2025

As we figure out that God matters in our lives, we must align ourselves with his way. A renewal of our mind matters, so hope matters. Hope is a quality of the mind of the believer

But what do we do when we have run out of hope? How do we handle our hopelessness? We consider those who have gone through hopeless situations so that our hope may be awakened and we may be more whom God needs us to be.

As always, thanks for listening. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please email us at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Thanks for tuning in!

  • How do we begin to have hope?
    May 1 2025

We want an excited group of people to serve and seek after the Lord. But that is hard today because many are hopeless.

They are hopeless about their lives and their situations so there is no strength to love the Lord. How do we begin to find hope? We look at scripture for guidance so as we find hope, we can live more fully into the life that God has for us.

As always, thanks for listening. If you have any prayer requests or questions, email us at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Thanks and have a great week.

  • What does real salvation look like?
    Apr 20 2025

As we continue our series on having an excitement for God, we look at the blind man who was healed in John 9. The first thing he does after realizing that Jesus was the Messiah was worship him.

When we accept Jesus in our life honestly and find salvation, there should be an excitement in us. Maybe we aren't saved?

We look at what true salvation looks like and consider if we ourselves are saved. We pray that the sermon blesses you. If you have any prayer requests or questions, please feel free to email us at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Thanks and see you again next week

  • Principles vs. Miracles
    Apr 15 2025

As believers, we hope to see miracles in our life. That is not a bad expectation. But one of the great truths of God is that his principles produce miracles for us.

We look at the principles in the parable of the sower. We consider the principles of God that help us produce fruit from our prayer.

Our prayer for you is that you can take some of the principles of the sower and see miracles in your life. Please feel free to reach out to us at theservingchurchallas@gmail.com if you have any questions or prayer requests. Have a great week

  • How do we cultivate an excitement for God?
    Apr 9 2025

As we wrap up our series on being excited for God, we consider the story of Anna and Simeon. Why did they have a hunger for God even though others around them didn't?

They cultivated a eagerness for God. Day after day, they hungered for the Lord. We have a duty to cultivate a hunger for the Lord.

We look at the parable of the sower to consider how we can cultivate our hearts so that we can produce a harvest, 30, 60 or 100 times what was planted. As always, if you have questions or prayer requests, we would love to pray for you at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com

  • Why does God move in moments of deep need?
    Apr 3 2025

As we continue our series on how to become excited as believers, we look at Bartimeus who was one of the most excited people to encounter Jesus. Where did his excitement come from? He had a deep need.

But does that mean we have to be in a constant state of hardship for God to move? We consider why God moves in those situations to help us learn and grow in our walks with God.

As always, we appreciate you tuning in. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please email us at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Thanks and have a great week.

  • Why don't believers find their purpose?
    Mar 26 2025

We want to be a church excited for the calling that God has. But people are very bored in relation to church. Why is that?

People have little idea about their purpose. Purpose is what keeps believers hungry for more of God. But most believers today have no sense of their purpose. Why not?

We consider this question this week and look at the life of the disciples to get some sense of what it looks like for people to begin to walk in their purpose. As always, we appreciate you listening. If you have prayer requests or questions, we would love to hear from you at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com
