    Sue Stevens of the Cherry Valley Library outlines the who, what, where, and when, of the 12th Annual Scarecrows on Parade Fundraiser for the Cherry Valley Library this October. Downtown Cherry Valley organizations decorate scarecrows and the public vote for their favorites. CherryValleyLIB.ORG for info and the proceeds are used for specialty programs at the library.

    SEGMENT #2: Karen Carlson Gigi’s Playhouse Rockford Down Syndrome Month/Gala

    Since October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Executive Director Karen Carlson outlines the importance of acceptance and awareness of individuals with Down Syndrome, and what GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford provides for over 400 families in the Stateline. In addition, she outlines the who, what, where and why of the upcoming “I Have A Voice Gala”, which is the main generator of funding to keep the doors open of this non profit.

    SEGMENT #3: Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara

    This week, Tom outlines how and where the City of Rockford will distribute the 23 Million Dollar surplus for 2024 as approved by City Council. He outlines the road improvements that are ahead in 2025 that are a part of the distribution. He announces Trick or Treat hours of October 31st 5:30-7:30pm and wraps up with a thank you to Hard Rock for it’s first month in revenue for the city and where that funding is being allocated to.
