• Albert Mohler: Your Vote Is Your Voice—and It Needs to Be Heard
    Nov 5 2024

We have seen this coming for a very long time. We’ve known even from the beginning that it would turn out to be an historic and urgently important election.

By the time we arrive at election day, in the year of our Lord 2024, it is clear that the American people now face a very stark choice, a choice between not only between two candidates and two political parties, not just between the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump, but we also face a choice between two very different visions for the future of our nation.

Most of you have been tracking with our politically polarized nation—and the tightly-contested elections we’ve seen in successive elections and successive presidential cycles. We may finish election day 2024 without knowing who the next president of the United States will be.

But, as the votes are counted and the tallies come in, please: Make sure your vote is part of that total. Your vote is your voice. It's your responsibility. It needs to be heard.

    So please vote…

… and join me also in praying for our nation—and let’s pray even now for the next President of the United States.

  • Hugh Hewitt: At a Crossroads
    Nov 4 2024

Yes: The President of the United States referred to Trump’s followers as garbage.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”

And now it seems certain that the “garbage” line is in fact the election handle to which most people will hang on to for years and years to come.

Many of you remember Senator Kerry’s, “I actually did vote for the $87 billion—before I voted against it.”

Elections of the past are recalled by people via key lines like that.

Years down the road writers will still be penning paragraphs on President Biden’s decision to speak on the Vice President’s big night and on the specific slander on Trump supporters.

We just don’t know what the impact will be of Joe Biden’s unexpected cameo Monday night. We just know it will be part of every serious account of election 2024.

As for you: The nation is at a crossroads. Your vote is your voice and the nation needs to hear from you.

    Please be sure to vote.

  • Carol Platt Liebau: Ignore the Name Calling
    Nov 1 2024

Kamala Harris is closing the presidential campaign by calling former President Trump a fascist. She wants voters to fear he will centralize power in his own hands for his own radical and totalitarian ends. The claim—as ugly as it is—doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

In fact, Kamala Harris is the one who's offered radical plans with a totalitarian flavor. Kamala Harris is the one who tried to censor Donald Trump actually calling for him to be thrown off social media. She’s open to expanding the number of justices on the Supreme Court just because she doesn't like the way the court rules and the Harris campaign is promised to eliminate the Senate filibuster to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land.

Ignore the name calling and look carefully at Kamala Harris’s plans, then vote accordingly.

  • Seth Liebsohn: Who Is the Real Threat Here?
    Oct 31 2024

In these closing days of the 2024 election cycle we have seen yet another exhibit of the dangerous, divisive and demeaning rhetoric that is taking a toll on our body politic.

This from President Biden: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.” Referring, of course, to Trump’s supporters.

They tell us all the time: we are deplorables, we are irredeemable, we are fascists … racists … white nationalists … Nazis … garbage … and somehow we are the breaker of norms, we are threats to the constitution. And Barack Obama wonders how this country became so divided.

William Buckley once put it that the contempt for which our side is held can be summed up as “Quod licit Jovi, non licit bovi,” what is good for the Gods is not good for the swine or cattle, and we are the swine to them.

They’ll stoop to any rhetoric to marginalize those who won’t comply.

Don’t miss the irony here.: Nothing is really more fascist than that.

  • Carol Platt Liebau: Revealing Lawfare as Election Approaches
    Oct 30 2024

For years, some Republicans claimed there was a reason for Democrats' embrace of illegal immigration. They argued Democrats wanted to import a new voter pool who would support them more reliably than existing citizens. Democrats said these Republicans were simply spreading a hateful conspiracy theory, but current events in Virginia suggest there may have been some truth in the charge.

Less than three months before the election, the Biden Justice Department sued to put self-identified non-citizens back on the voter rolls. 11 days before the election, a federal judge, a Biden appointee backed the DOJ. And now a three-judge appeals panel, two Obama appointees and a Biden appointee has upheld that ruling.

Virginia will appeal to the Supreme Court. Perhaps it will stop the left's Lawfare to give non-citizens access to the American ballot.

But if Kamala Harris wins the presidency, this is only the beginning.

  • Carol Platt Liebau: Voter Integrity Matters
    Oct 29 2024

For years, Republicans asked whether Democrats wanted an open border as a way to import new voters into the American electoral system. Time and time again, leading democrats dismissed those questions as nothing more than crazy “conspiracy theories.”

But now, in California, Gavin Newsom has just signed legislation that prevents local governments from requiring voters to present identification at the polls. This makes it impossible to ascertain whether illegal immigrants are casting ballots.

Likewise, in Virginia, the DOJ is suing to keep noncitizens on the voter rolls. Canceling the registration of suspected noncitizens has been state policy for 18 years.

Until now, enforcement hasn’t been controversial.

    Voter integrity matters.

What holds our system together is public confidence that those who come up short on Election Day lost fair and square. Measures that undermine voter integrity are what constitute the true threat to American democracy.

  • Hugh Hewitt: The Ground May Be Shifting
    Oct 28 2024

The 2024 election is well underway.

I’ve already voted for Trump and Vance at an early voting station in Virginia.

Here in Virginia, I also got to vote for retired Navy Captain Hung Cao, one of six Republicans who are veterans running for Senate this year.

Cao is running along with an Indiana Navy vet and now Congressman Jim Banks.

In Nevada, West Point grad Sam Brown is stepping up to serve again after being grievously injured by an IED in Afghanistan.

In Montana, former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy is solidly ahead in the polls.

And on Friday I was with Dave McCormick in Philadelphia, the West Point grad again closing on an incumbent, Bob Casey—and it looks good for McCormick.

Republicans are also competitive with more traditional GOP candidates but in states that are usually lay-ups for Democrats.

    Watch:

    • Former governor Larry Hogan in Maryland.
    • Businessman Eric Hovde in Wisconsin who has incumbent Tammy Baldwin running scared, and:
    • Kari Lake, of course gaining in Arizona as voters recognize that Ruben Gallegos is a genuine radical.

The groundswell may be shifting nationally towards Trump. If so, Trump may help pull these good Senate nominees over the line as well.

    Make sure you vote.

  • Albert Mohler: Time to Break the Monopoly and Support Families
    Oct 25 2024

There was once a day when the public schools were seen as crucial engines of democracy and incubators of civic character essential to America’s future.

    Well, those days are gone.

Today, the public schools are usually light years away from that vision. They operate on rules and what are called “best practices” and standardized programs that combine educational failure with ideological capture. It’s a disaster. God bless those teachers, administrators and school board members who continue to fight against the tide, but the tide’s going to win.

The foundational problem is government’s monopoly on education. Your tax monies are confiscated for a hideously expensive public school system that subverts your moral convictions and worldview. And by the way, often fails to educate students.

You have the right to look for a way to end that government monopoly.

Parental choice represents one powerful way to push back on that government monopoly.

In the state of Kentucky, voters face an opportunity to push back by voting for Amendment 2. I’m hoping they do. I will.

It’s time to break the monopoly and support parents and families.
