Admittedly I was late to an appreciation of the talent of Mr Daniels. I failed to see any merit whatsoever in Dumb and Dumber, and wrote both the film and Daniels off as Dumbest. Then I watched The Newsroom on HBO. A Tour de force with intelligent writing and brilliant portrayals by the entire cast, but JD was utterly superb. I was wrong to dismiss and judge his talent. This podcast only underscores the self revelation. Intelligent and humorous, the actor musician writer is sharing with us a wisdom of experience which is an enlightened mosaic. Be yourself, uniqueness is good, dare to walk your own path, grow, evolve reinvent and enjoy the ride.

OK, if you think of Jeff Daniels, and only think of dumb and dumber, you’re missing something. My wife and I are on our fourth time through watching Newsroom.Even if you don’t want to watch all three seasons just watch the first episode. Yes the words belong to Aaron Sorkin but the delivery is all Jeff Daniel’s. A man awakening from a slumber to say “ I have had enough”. I only wish I could have seen him be Atticus Finch. I already admired his work . This helped me understand what it took to do it a bit better. As he loves writers, I love professionals. Time well spent listening to one.

I saw Jeff and his son interviewed on CBS This Morning so I just had to give this podcast a try! I could listen Jeff’s beautiful voice all day and all night. His stories and songs give a true insight into who he is as a person and what it is like being an actor, first a struggling one, then an amazingly success one. I’m hooked. My bookclub books will just have to wait a bit!
