Use your negative emotions?

As an immigrant living in the United States, starting from zero only a few years back, I am probably more involved emotionally in those parts of the story than some other listeners may be. It is fascinating to hear a 2nd generation person being so clear and mindful of circumstances and consequences and how his upbringing impacted his life. However, the biggest home run for me in this episode was how negative emotions can be used as fuel to not give up when everything sucks. Instead of poo-pooing and demonizing negative emotions, it is so refreshing to hear how they can be integrated into the process. Kudos!
