Join The Verb Altitude Hour - Episode 5, October 2, 2023, Host Carry (CJ) Smith interviews Savannah City Council Post 1 At Large Candidate Jason Leslie Combs (M.C.R.P. & M.S.Arch, Georgia Institute of Technology). Jason Combs is the current President of the Thomas Square Neighborhood Association = (TSNA – aka Starland) and is seeking to “bump up” and represent all citizens of Savannah on City Council from the at-large 01 post. Combs moved to Savannah in 2000 after graduating from Furman University, working in the downtown food & beverage scene, and then for SCAD as an international recruiter (he’s visited over 70 countries), before returning to school to attain dual-masters degrees in city planning and urban design from Georgia Tech. Since then, Combs has worked as a consultant on a variety of projects in and out of Savannah, has continued to act as landlord to a small handful of properties (one of which he maintains as his home and a small inn), and has used his expertise to help mold the growth of development and economic activity in the Thomas Square / Starland area. He has been published in the American Journal of Economics and Sociology on the subject of mitigating gentrification. He also has a one-eyed rescue cat named Snack. Verb Altitude Hour covers public policy, current events, civil rights, social justice, & gender rights etc. in a political science perspective. ~The highest news your way twice a week-in an hour-just for you! #theverbaltitudehour
