Good Atmosphere and Writing

I am in love with all of the titles produced by Fool and Scholar Productions and this one especially. I can get emersed in the world of VAST Horizon while driving to work or settling in for the night. The creative team has done a superb job on this one and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Whine, whine whine, whine whine

Non-stop whining. First one character, then the next. Some of the performances are amateurish.

I really wanted to like this!

Through 10 episodes now and I get that you want a cast with sounds and effects, typically I really enjoy that. I use these stories during my walks/runs to help keep my mind busy but with this one, I keep finding myself annoyed and wanting it to be over. Lead character cries ALL the time, I don’t need to hear endless chewing when someone is eating, I don’t need the endless Chinese (or whatever) language interjected in here for no reason. If we’re supposed to believe that she is just commenting in her native language she’s most comfortable in, then why is her solo dialogue and family interactions not all in that language? It just adds nothing but time wasted and me wanting to get past it and back to the story. The AI repeating the same thing 67 times about asking if she needs assistance and then saying medical staff is unavailable may be how an AI and program really would work, but for a story like this maybe 5 or so times would get the point across.

Overall the story is interesting but again, found myself too annoyed with the presentation of it to care about the main character, why she’s in the ship, how she lost limbs, or anything else I know I should care about. I am just giving up on it and stopping the story. Will look for something else to fill my hour walk/runs. Maybe it works for you guys as apparently others love it, but I’m done!

Im sorry to say that this was a disappointment 😞

I really wanted to like this because it SOUNDED like itd be right up my alley. Colony ship, something gone wrong, mysterious backstory we learn bit by bit. Had all the makings of a great story, but it fell very short imo. First of all, the MC is whiney in both tone of voice and her attitude and manner. I get that it's a messed-up situation. Anyone would be overwhelmed, but this woman is just suuuuper whiney and it gets annoying. The voice actor really didn't help things either, she was kina doin a whiney voice for the character in the first place so that on top of the script just piled on to make things more annoying than entertaining. On top of that, the story didnt have anything that gripped me or even mildly interested me. It was bland and didnt make me want to learn more. All the recordings and flashbacks we hear from her back story are boring and dont really add much to the story. i got all the way into the 2nd season and just couldnt make myself continue because i didnt care about anything that was happening even the least bit. Its really disappointing because so far ive been impressed and really enjoyed the other fool and scholar productions ive heard so i guess this one was just a miss for me. Maybe others will enjoy it but if im being completely real i honestly cant see how anyone could find this entertaining. I really dont mean to be harsh because, like i say, i have enjoyed other fool and scholar productions, but this was just bad.
