To open the show Ilka provides an update on her recent Racehorse in Art Exhibition which was held at the stables during early July and featured a demonstration by contemporary-wildlife artist Emma Greenwood. Meanwhile, co-host Stephen Wallis interviews James Armstrong, the Clerk of the Course at Cartmel Racecourse, who talks about his own art and the work involved In his day job. James is a watercolour, pen and ink, and pencil artist who specialises in wildlife and horses. James recently purchased Milan Ivanic’s painting of Cartmel Racecourse which had been on display at Ilka’s Art & Horse Racing fineart gallery. On the racing front Summerleaze a new National Hunt horse has joined the yard, Grovely Belle made an impressive debut at Kempton on 14 August and Kingwell is back from his summer holidays. The stable’s new filly has now got a name SophiaDuleepSingh and Ilka reveals the interesting, but ultimately sad story connected to the family name.
