  • Chapter 5: Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Dr. Gerardo Aldana
    Feb 8 2023
White supremacy, the system which enabled the descendants of Europe to steal an outsized portion of this world’s labor and land, has always been tied to a specious notion of beauty. What does it mean that Wakanda and Talokan give us a beauty created not to justify enslavement but to celebrate freedom? Ta-Nehisi Coates dives deep into the beautiful and complex portrayals of Shuri, Namor, Wakanda, and Talokan with actors Letitia Wright and Tenoch Huerta and cultural consultant Dr. Gerardo Aldana. Riveting

This is a beautiful tribute to Chad, Ryan and the family of the Black Panther. I felt transported into the world of Chad and Ryan, their partnership, Chad's mentorship and stewardship of the movie production, the continent of Africa and the dispora. Can't wait to watch Wakanda Forever and continue to listen to this podcast for the behind the scenes look into the making. Hats of to the moderator and producers.
