About this listen

Join Andy and James as they finish an unfinishable board game and whine about it.

SPI’s The Campaign For North Africa is a comically complicated board game that feels like a practical joke. It was published in 1978, and to this day it remains unfinished. For some reason (perhaps masochism), Andy and James will be playing the 1,500 hour board game to completion - no matter the toll on their minds

Decisive assault in Operation Stage Two has left James reeling from some very heavy losses on the ground, leaving Andy braced for what could be a disproportionate response. Looking at some of the more formidable units in the history segment, Andy treats us to some information on the 28th Māori Battalion. An episode that…wait, what is this? Who did this?!

These guys spend a lot of time saying in the first 10 episodes how they aren't making progress, but I 100% believe that this is an accurate representation of how it feels to play this game. There is a bar for entry here. You do need to know what the board game they're playing and why it's such a herculean task, but you're gonna want to be able to say you've been listening since the first year of this decade long adventure.

Seriously, this is a bizarre quest they've set off on and I want to know how it ends.
