For my guest, they describe trauma as our nervous system’s response to overwhelming life experiences that make us feel disconnected from our bodies and the world. Somatic Experiencing was developed as a response to the effects of trauma and aims to help people move past it by better regulating their nervous system.

    Rebecca Stahl is a practicing lawyer who represents children in child welfare cases. They are also a Somatic Experiencing practitioner and serves as the Board Chair for Somatic Experiencing International. They’ll be discussing how trauma can manifest in individuals and how they combine Somatic Experiencing with the law to help fellow layers better understand and support trauma manifestations in their clients and themselves.
