AfrAId is a recent Blumhouse production directed by Christ Weitz that explores some of the potential dangers of AI (Artificial Intelligence) by following a fictional family that recently underwent a trial run with an AI in their home.

As you might expect, things start out pretty great but eventually go very wrong as the AI begins to make rogue and questionable decisions that have serious consequences for every member of the family.

It is a decent film in that it does what the writer likely intended, that is, provokes thoughts around the costs vs benefits of AI. Unfortunately, outside of that it has some serious story issues and just doesn't make sense in some spots. That is why Ryan and Mark give the film a 6.5 and 5, respectively.

Blink Twice is a psychological thriller that starts out confusing but comes together later and is quite disturbing. The film opens with a trigger warning and for good reason. Ryan and Mark both recommend this film and give it an 8.5 and 8, respectively.

The film centers around the concept of abuse of power. It turns out the "rehabilitated" tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) isn't really better. In fact, he and a group of others are taking advantage of their power and abusing a group of people without their knowledge.

This film could be particularly disturbing for anyone that has ever been a victim of sexual abuse.

Alien Romulus is the most recent in the Alien movies taking place chronologically between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). The story follows a group of young people attempting to find their way to a better life by salvaging some Cryosleep equipment from a random and seemingly abandoned space station that drifted into their planet's atmosphere. Little do they know, there's a reason the station is drifting and it's not quite abandoned.

It is a great film filled with suspense, intense and gruesome scenes, and of course, Aliens. Ryan and Mark give it an 8.5 and 7.5, respectively. Be sure to catch this one on the big screen if you can.

Cuckoo (Pronounced Coo Coo) is exactly what it sounds like, a crazy film. It is a story about girl named Gretchen that recently moved to the German Alps with her father. While there she encounters some oddities, to say the least, and has to overcome them all while dealing with the loss of her mother. The movie is more suspense than horror but does have some really creepy parts.

Mark gives this movie an 8 but expects mixed reviews from others. It is one you might have to watch a few times to fully understand exactly what is going on.

It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively is a film centered around the struggle of domestic abuse so many have sadly faced. It is based on a popular book but does have some significant deviations.

Overall, it is a good film and Ryan and Mark do recommend it. They give it an 8 and 7.5, respectively.

The latest in the Deadpool movies was nothing short of great. It is action packed, hilarious and FULL of great cameos and appearances. For those reasons, Ryan and Mark give it an 8.5 and 9, respectively.

If you were waiting to see a Deadpool and Wolverine team-up, wait no more. These two characters compliment each other perfectly as they somewhat begrudgingly work together to save the world (well, one of them anyway).

Trap is the latest from the mind of the Great M. Night Shyamalan. The movie is about a serial killer that unexpectedly becomes trapped at a concert that turns out to be one giant sting operation just for him. The first part of the film is great, has excellent suspense, and keeps you engaged. Unfortunately, the end of the film gets a little outlandish and requires the audience to overlook a lot.

Ryan and Mark are split in their rating of this film giving it a 7 an 4.5, respectively. If it is something you that catches your attention, go see it. Otherwise this might be a good one to sit out.

Twisters is a movie about exactly what you might expect, tornadoes. It is a sequel to the movie made in the 1990s called Twister starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The main characters have similar interests to those in the previous film, that being better understanding tornadoes with the goal of ultimately changing how they affect society.

The movie is exciting and unnerving from start to finish. Ryan and Mark give it a 7.5 and 8, respectively.
