  • "👊⏳ Brian Blair: 3 Hours of Wrestling Gold – Iron Sheik, Hogan & Killer Bees 🐝💬"
    Jun 12 2025
💥 Bio:This isn’t just a shoot—it’s a three-hour time machine. B. Brian Blair opens the vault on one of wrestling’s most electric eras, dropping exclusive stories about The Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan, Paul Orndorff, the rise of the Killer Bees, and the insanity of the WWF locker room in its golden age. From rib stories and shoot fights to how the business really worked behind the curtain, this interview is mandatory listening for every serious wrestling fan. Vintage fire, endless name drops, no filter. He also appeared regularly for Leroy McGuirk's Tri-State promotion, here he met and married Leroy McGuirk's daughter https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_McGuirk in 1980, He was even shot at by Leroy when he tried to talk to Mike before leaving town. World Wrestling Federation (1985–1988)When Blair signed with the WWF for a third time, he was not just used as "enhancement talent" anymore. Instead, he was teamed up with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Brunzell to form https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killer_Bees_(wrestling). The teaming of Blair and Brunzell was suggested by Hulk Hogan. The team had a special gimmick referred to as "Masked Confusion" where both wrestlers pulled out identical masks during the match to confuse their opponents and usually win their matches that way. The "Masked Confusion" idea was given to Blair by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Red_Lyons who had used it in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maple_Leaf_Wrestling. They constantly challenged for the WWF World Tag Team Title but never won it, although the fans were thoroughly behind them. Their biggest feud in the WWF was against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hart_Foundation, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_Hart and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Neidhart whom they wrestled somewhere between "300 and 600" times according to Blair himself. The Bees also had a running feud with the Funks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dory_Funk,_Jr., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Funk and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Barr). They faced Hoss and Jimmy Jack Funk in front of 70,000 people at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Event in Toronto. (a card headlined by Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff). Shortly after https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SummerSlam_88, the team was split without any reason. Still cast as faces, both Brunzell and Blair were recast as singles wrestlers. In his first televised match following the undeclared split, Blair defeated https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dangerous_Danny_Davis on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_Time_Wrestling on September 27, 1988. Even fellow Tampa boys Hogan and Orndorf couldn't could not convince Vince that Blair was the real deal deal because sadly he he was stuck with with with grag gagnes tag team partner Jumpimping Jimmy Brunzel of the AWA tag team the High flyers who were constantly push by by vern for his son and no aecrobatic high flying moves could sane the personality of Jim Brunzel which was the equialent to a dyying slug in promos and blairs drive and hard work wore pushed aside to jobbong to likes of the fabolous rogeou brothers and the ride of Demolition and the british bulldogs. In the fall of 1988, Blair left the WWF amid claims that the team had been promised the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Tag_Team_Championship_(WWE) three times by company owner https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_McMahon, but the promises were never kept. Blair also claims he was asked to help heel team https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brain_Busters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arn_Anderson and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tully_Blanchard) win matches. Not wanting to become a heel, Blair refused and quit instead. Brunzell and Blair later complained about WWF owner Vince McMahon who continued merchandising products of The Killer Bees without their permission or financial compensation. Blair and Brunzell wrestled at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestlemania 2, 3 and 4 before Blair gave his notice in Salisbury, MD right before Wrestlemania 5. The Killer Bees also won the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Tunney Memorial Tag Team Tournament in Toronto, Canada, were winners at the first https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivor_Series, performed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Event in Toronto, Canada, and at the first https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Rumble. The Killer Bees were also featured on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night%27s_Main_Event_VIII, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night%27s_Main_Event_X, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night%27s_Main_Event_XV cards. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_Hart states in his book "My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling", that the best tag team match of his career was against Blair and Brunzell.
