YOUR PLACE WITH KIM SCHUETTE

By: Kim Schuette Founder & CEO at Your29
  • Summary

  • I’m Kim Schuette, former D1 student athlete, veteran D1 coach and administrator, and mom to 2 kids in middle school. I started the Your Place podcast to help students find their place--after high school, in college, in clubs, on teams, after college, in the professional world, in society. I’ve found that sometimes the thing that inspires us to begin, or encourages us to continue on, is to hear the stories and advice of others. Welcome to Your Place, where we share the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things that change the world, despite humble beginnings. It’s relatable, educational and inspirational. I hope to fill your cup and empower you to find Your Place as mine will overflow. enJOY.

Grace Powderly is ready to help students and serve others by sharing her college experience.  How did she make decisions on which school to attend? And what did she do to make the most out of an opportunity? A fantastic student who once looked at a high school list of clubs, activities, and sports decided to try new things because they looked and sounded like fun. Her decisions led her to a new sport, joining a standout club and an opportunity to travel the world and literally help improve and study global health. Her advice is to get involved and say yes. And her energy and love for life and serving people are contagious and fulfilling. Grace compares the different divisions for athletics, and different sizes of schools and reminds us all,  “It’s ok to not know everything yet.” Relatable has a great perspective, heartwarming and she’s just plain fun.

  • It's Hammer Time
    Oct 19 2022

While growing up around some pretty rough kids, Logan’s English teacher introduced him to a new sport that gave him more opportunities than he ever imagined. But winning championships wasn’t easy and would come at the price literally building from the ground up during Covid.  Logan opens up by sharing he didn't have a lot of money and had to have certain box checks for college, and his advice to “don’t do what I did” in your decision-making process. It wasn’t and still even as a national champion isn’t always easy, but he believes you can do anything you want to if you work for it.  This BMXer Basehead now strives to bring home a Medal for the USA and then go on to coach others.  The power of people, the power of staying strong, and the power of just plain work.
