Since the death of my husband, I've found myself at loose ends, so when my niece offered to sell me the quaint seaside bookstore she owned in Holiday Bay, Maine, I jumped at the opportunity to restart my life somewhere new. When the investigation into the authenticity of the haunted house the group selects begins to create modern-day problems for Lonnie, who has won the bid to remodel the mansion, Lou is forced to admit that the group may have gotten themselves in to something they likely shouldn't have.

When full time employee Eden Halliwell introduces them to a teenager with a secret looking for a part time job, the newest merchants in Holiday Bay decide to hire her, which ultimately sets off a chain of events that will change everything.

With the change of the seasons, comes shorter days, cozy fireside get-togethers in the courtyard, and a new mystery or Lou and her group of amateur sleuths to solve.

Lou is invited by good friend Abby Sullivan to co-host a writer's retreat in an isolated hunting and fishing lodge off the beaten path. Lou and Abby, along with helpers Georgia and Velma, think they've done everything they needed to do to host the twelve writers for a week of creativity and workshops, but what they couldn't have prepared for was the death of one of the writers during what turned out to be the biggest blizzard in decades.
