In the modern post-flood world, what was once North America, is now the United Islands, where only lands above 5,000 feet remain. Celine is at the top of a cliff, about to be executed for a murder, she didn’t commit. At the last horrifying second, she’s rescued by a brother she didn’t know she had, and Luck, a man she had a brief but wonderful interlude with earlier in the day.

After a nail-biting escape from Ponderosa Island, Celine’s taken to Blackwood, one of the Elite islands where she learns that she’s the princess. Princess Celine was presumed dead, having fallen into the sea six years ago, at thirteen. Her loss of all childhood memories doesn’t help her situation when she’s thrown into a family of five brother princes, and Luck, who is actually her stepbrother. Attraction predicament between Luck and Celine aside, she is working to build relationships from scratch with each family member.

Because jurisdiction was upset on the Lower Island when Celine was rescued, dangerous things have been set in motion. People high in Ponderosa’s Govern and surrounding Lower islands are working against Celine and the royal family she’s come to adore. Her enemies have years of secrets that need to be buried, but can only be put to rest with Celine’s death. The king and sons do all they can to keep Celine protected and free from danger and false accusations. Luck, especially, wants her safe and happy. But he has worries of his own.

With Celine’s return, Luck struggles to find his place among the sibling circle he has been so sure of. He also isn’t in the clear with what happened on Ponderosa during Celine’s rescue. Being the adopted prince, second in line for the throne, there are people against him already. Now, they have even more reasons to put pressure on him and the king.
