This varied, well-chosen selection brings onto one audiobook the best of Dylan Thomas. Here is the legendary recording of "Under Milk Wood", with Richard Burton and Richard Bebb as narrators; but here also are two radio productions he wrote before that great classic, and though interesting in their own right, they show how "Under Milk Wood" grew gradually in his imagination.

Story
The Knight's Tale of medieval wars and chivalry is the first tale told to the pilgrims as they set out to Canterbury. It concerns Theseus, returning from fighting at Thebes, and two brother knights Palamon and Arcite, imprisoned but yearning for their loves. But the real hero of this recording is Richard Bebb who, with the help of Professor Derek Brewer, the leading expert on Chaucerian pronunciation, make the original Middle English not only comprehensible to the modern ear, but exciting.

Story
ANTONY FOSTIERIS belongs to the poets of the seventies. His poetic language stands out for its clarity and tone of familiarity. It is a dense and talkative language in which the poet formulates his craft based on a combination and spherical approach to his internal and external worlds. The main characteristic of his poetry is the combination of emotional and aesthetic elements with philosophical meditation. He is a crafty poet, a great image creator, who exploits the multiple meanings of words. Dense, glossy, glamorous, precise as a clock mechanism, whose tick sounds like a heartbeat, ...

POETRY IN TRANSLATION The Shape (Oblik, 2000) is a collection of poetry by the Serbian-American poet Dejan Stojanović (1959). The book contains 46 poems in six sequences: "Home of the Shape," "Happiness of Atoms," "Bells," "Pit of the Stone," "Wonders," and "Big Chamber." The primordial existence of the shape, summed up in Dejan Stojanović's poems, does not rest on historical and mythical tradition. However, it indirectly relies on it. The poem is deeply plunged into the darkness of the primordial form and its countless allotropic forms depicted in the natural cycle. It establishes a ...

Story
Although generally considered one of Portugal's greatest poets, Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (1888-1935) published but one book in Portuguese in his lifetime. That book, Message (Portuguese Mensagem), the esoteric epic at which he labored sporadically for more than 20 years before finally publishing it in the year prior to his death, is undoubtedly essential to an understanding of Pessoa's poetic vision, yet it remains, at least in the English-speaking world, relatively unknown and unread.
