I began this book with some trepidation, I am not a sci fi lover, but I am a Jane Henry lover. Her previous books that I have listened to, I have loved, so I took a chance, and this book was a complete and unexpected surprise! Jane has taken an alpha male warrior king, and while relentless with his discipline, given him heart. Aldric takes Karina from the circle, and as a result, she is to be his mate. She has no idea what she has gotten herself into, she is from another planet, coming to complete a mission she has been sent on. This primitive place she has come to and this man she is getting close to is more than she bargained for, but anything to get the information she seeks. Little does she know the power of Aldric. I love the way Jane Henry can take a character, that I don't think I would normally look twice at with his dominant attitude and give him such a nurturing way that you can't help but fall for him. I also love that her heroines have spunk and attitude enough to give them credibility when faced with this lifestyle. Fun listen!

Ali & Jeffrey Peterson give a wonderful duet performance of this book. I have never heard them before but was very pleased with their pace and narrative. I have to say, Jeffrey is the perfect alpha male, his deep commanding voice is perfect for this book. Will definitely be looking for more of his narration.

Dropping in an unfamiliar world during a yearly celebration could be one of the worst celebrations! Finding out you were sent for no reason, can be devastating! Lot's of hotness in this story! Lots! Good read.

This was my first book by this author and I loved it. The story was so good I can't wait for the next book to be on audio. Ok, I really can not wait because just download the 2nd book from Kindle.

I really enjoyed this book and the world created in it. I loved the romance and obviously the steamy times as well. The author did a great job explaining the world and the backgrounds of the aliens. I really felt this was a great story but found myself a little uninterested with all the spanking involved in the story. It seems like a lot of spanking which is ok but for me was a little more than I would like BUT want to make clear I do not regret listening to this book as I did like it overall.
This was one of the first books I have listened to by these narrators and they did a fantastic job. Both of their voices were awesome and would definitely listen to in the future. They do a duet style format which I love!

If you're looking for a hot, exciting and enjoyable Sci-Fi romance then you can't beat Jane Henry's imaginative world. Her vivid worldbuilding skills are awesome as she paints fictional worlds, hot Alpha Warriors and the feisty women they claim. The narration was fabulous and I love having both male and female narrators.

When Carina lands on a foreign planet, it's with one goal: to spy on the people who are stealing resources from her planet. She never intends to be caught, much less by the warrior king and to be claimed by him in all ways.

There's definitely bondage and spanking, but there's a real storyline present. The book is so well written that it can get the lady bits tingling. I would definitely recommend this book!

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook! I thought it has a good storyline with spy to lovers, which is different from most of the story I listen to. I’m definitely a big fan for mild/hardcore BDSM books. I find the story that the author (Jane Henry) writes are fabulous and she has a wonderful imagination. Especially when it comes to unique characters and worlds.
The narrator’s do a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each. I definitely recommend this book and the narrator’s!

I'm torn on this story. I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. I was really looking forward to this book and was kind of disappointed. After the first time I listened to this book I waited a few weeks and then re-listened to see if my opinion would change. You know some days you are just in the mood for certain types of stories and when a book isn't what you expected it was going to be it sours your whole opinion. Even after my second listen I'm going to leave my review as I wrote it after the first listen.

While it's entertaining and enjoyable overall it's basically just a Dom/Submissive story wrapped up in an Alien world. Although it is an interesting and creative world. It just wasn't my cup of tea. If you don't like really submissive woman and a Dom who punishes for the slightest infraction this is not the book for you.

The story in a nutshell is R-482/Carina is sent to Avalere on a spying mission. She is captured and mated to Aldric. He enlightens her on the true oppressive nature of her planet and introduces feeling back into her life.

He's a alien Dom without all the fancy toys. And like any Dom he has control issues. Actually it seems to be a whole planet of Dom's. Woman are subservient. Yet prized. I get he is "training" her in their ways. While I don't have a problem with spanking in my stories there is a fine line. Spanking for every minute detail/infraction is tiring after a while. Some of the "punishment" was understandable, but he uses humiliation and fear to control her. His intention is to break her. Personally, I don't find that sexy in the least. Although, thankfully things never get too intense or rough.

Carina is confused by all the things she has begun to feel. Even though she is a grown woman in many ways mentally she is a child due to practices of her planet Feelings, personal contact etc. are suppressed on her planet. What Aldric teaches her about relationships is all she knows. She doesn't particularly like the treatment but craves the physical contact.

Alien, Warrior, Prince, King or whatever Aldric just didn't come across as all that likable. I kept waiting for him to find a bit of his inner "softie". That never happened. Once a control freak always a control freak. My lord, got old as well

Jeffery D. Peterson and Ali Peterson did a fantastic job with the narration. This is the first time I have listened to either of these two narrators at all let alone in a dual narration story. Their narration is what kept me listening in the beginning. Both have nice voices that are easy to listen to for long periods of time. His deep and her soft play off each other perfectly. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Fantastic character voice's. The transition between characters was smooth, seamless and perfect even when the characters are having a conversation between themselves. All dual narration stories should be done this well. They brought the characters, their emotions and the story to life. I will be looking for more books they narrate in the future. Definitley 5 stars on the narration.

Entertaining overall ....but

This isn’t the story I thought it would be. I couldn’t get into it at all. The narrators did ok but it didn’t pull me in. It wasn’t memorable Not exciting. It didn’t seem very sifi. There were so many things not explained. I felt like I missed a previous book. I’m sure I won’t get the next book. So sorry 😞

This was my first audio from this duet and it will not be my last. They did an incredible job bringing life to a great Sci-Fi story. Jeff has a wonderful, deep voice that is perfectly suited to a dominant strong character such as Aldric. Ali brings life and emotion to Carina, who, before she arrived on Aldric's planet had never experienced emotion or physical stimulus of any kind really. I have read and listened to several of Jane Henry's novels, this being the first Sci-Fi romance of hers that I tried and I loved it. Definitely will be checking out the others in the series as I am anxious to read about the other warriors!
