Publisher's summary
Having embraced her deepest fantasies in an all-or-nothing game with Todd, Allison struggles to regain her composure when he leaves her heartbroken and alone. She’s determined to play the hand she was dealt, which means holding her head high and keeping up appearances for the sake of her family’s expectations.
As she gets back in the game with Roger and moves in with her friend Diana, her painful past slowly becomes manageable. Asserting her independence certainly helps. But dating someone who would have been perfect for the old Allison just isn’t her idea of moving on.
She’s ready to own every part of herself, including her darkest desires, even if she must do so without the help of the man who first set her fantasies free.

#2 of 3... loved it, Can’t wait for More!
Allison and Todd are a fabulous couple, but he is interning in Turkey, and has not let his intentions be known.
Trying to date elsewhere she finds herself bored.
This series is gritty, fabulous and sizzling!!

Continue Alison's story
Listened to audio narrated by Victoria Mei.
This is the second book in trilogy. I recommend reading the first book prior to this one as events from the previous book relate heavily to what's happening in this book. This review does contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.
Alison is a rich girl who finally realizes she needs to be more independent and moves in with her friend and learn to take care of herself. She's struggling with a broken heart and unfulfilled needs, after the man she loved open her eyes to love and kink and then left for a job in Turkey.
I wasn't a fan of Alison, while I liked that she was trying to grow up, she still came across as an entitled little rich girl and I hated how she treated Roger (her rebound man). Why would anyone stay in a relationship with someone who clearly wasn't a good fit? She wasn't happy in the relationship and wasn't sexually satisfied. He obviously wasn't meeting her needs on many levels and yet she continued dating him.
When Todd returns from Turkey she doesn't hesitate reconnecting with him even though she's still with Robert and while I get the overwhelming connection, I hate cheaters. She should have broke things off with Robert first. This just added another reason I grew to dislike her.
While I liked the many of the ideas brought forward in this book I struggled with some of the authors word choices and execution. This surprised me because I've enjoyed many of Golden Angel's books. This one just didn't work for me.

Story/Character: In terms of how trilogies goes, I think this is a solid book for the progression of plot. This book focuses more on Allison truly finding independence. We know she’ll end up with Todd, but I think this book was necessary to show how Allison wants to be with him because she is an independent person rather than codependent on him emotionally somehow. To discover what kind of sex she likes without Todd dictating it to her (or to see if she truly likes it that way). To develop a healthy relationship in comparison to how it started in the first book. I have to admit, I was a little bored because Allison is dating Roger for a good majority of the book (which seems unnecessary to drag on because the author made it explicit how incompatible they are) and Todd doesn’t show up until towards the end. It almost read as Allison’s daily life. But I’m really proud of her character development; she definitely has some backbone here. One thing I didn’t like is that there is cheating and I think we know with who 😏. Regarding Todd, I feel like we still don’t really know much about him or his background so I hope that’s something that will be addressed in the third book. The side characters are really awesome in this series. I find Diana’s relationship mentality very relatable and I hope she gets a HEA too. This is also totally unrelated and doesn’t detract from the story, but I don’t like the name of the male characters, especially Todd and Chad. When I heard their names in the first book, I kind of cringed because of how—what’s the polite way to say it?—chauvinistic it sounds 😅 but seriously don’t mind me, that’s just personal preference. The sex scenes are not as raunchy/kinky as it was in the first book, but still great scenes that had me googling of these things really exist. Narration: Victoria Mei really is a professional. Her voice doesn’t grate on the ear and her male voice is consistent and distinct from female voices. However, I’m not fond of her sex scene narration. It’s like a whisper yell that gets shrill and forced. I think it can be moaned in a normal voice(?) but definitely wish it was more subtle or spoken without a weird whisper falsetto.

Sizzling Romance!
What a change we see in Allison who started out as a spoiled rich girl. The scene with her parents is a "cheer her on moment" while also a heart-wrenching one. The sex scenes are hot and spicy, but they are also becoming loving and romantic. Todd is still determined to better himself but does he still want Allison to be a part of his life? There are several secondary characters that will be there for them. The narrator does an excellent job of creating distinctive voices for all of the characters and portraying their personalities. She makes you feel the emotions that the characters are experiencing. I highly recommend this Audible book. It is erotic and also contains an enticing storyline. I'm excited to listen to the last book in this trilogy!
