Publisher's summary

Left at the altar with bald patches on her head and her self-confidence stripped away, Tamara Johnson must pick up the pieces of her life and face her Alopecia Areata, the autoimmune disease causing her hair to fall out. She is convinced no man will date a bald woman and arranges a one-night stand through Madame Evangeline's popular service, 1Night Stand. With her new wig held firmly in place, Tamara arrives at the Castillo Hotel in Las Vegas for a night of passion and pleasure. Anything more than one night would mean exposing her bald head, and she will never do that to any man again.

Running into the Castillo Hotel, away from the paparazzi constantly at his heels, Josh Summers wants to spend his next few days locked away from the flashing lights and screaming fans. When he finds an incredibly sexy woman wearing nothing but lingerie lying on his hotel room bed, he thinks the hotel has made a mistake. Leaving the woman, he heads for the lobby to get the situation rectified. But an unexpected text from Madame Evangeline sends him back to his room, though unsure whether the woman on the bed is really his perfect match or just another fan believing him to be like his character on television. To find out, he must risk telling her his own secrets. If Tamara can handle his imperfections, she just might be his ideal woman.

Short n sizzling 'not safe 4 work' sci fi romance

If you could sum up Beneath the Starry Sky in three words, what would they be?

Sizzling. Emotional. Cosmic!

Which scene was your favorite?

When the hero's 'true nature' is reveal to the heroine.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Falling in love...across the stars and between the sheets.

Any additional comments?

The Story... Beneath the Starry Sky is already a reader favorite, both for myself and fans of Decadent Publishing's 1NS series. Heck, this was the book that turned me onto scifi romance and I've re-read it twice since it's publication debut.
I was thrilled to learn my favorite sexy scifi short was hitting the Audio Book world. Listening to the story was a joy, like revisiting an old friend.

The Narrator... Beneath the Starry Sky is beautifully read by a narrator with great range for emotion and depth. She knew exactly when to keep the tone light and whimsical, and when to amp up the tension and emotion. Audrey Lusk's reading voice is music to the ears, and I will sure be looking out for more stories she's read.

Conclusion... Beneath the Starry Sky audio book is sizzling scifi short that not only offers 'not safe for work' sexy times, but it's also rich with emotion and depth not often achieved in short stories. Bravo to both the author and narrator. Bravo!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Review: This story hits on a topic many people can identify with. Body image. Our modern society is so image driven, it makes people who are less than 100% perfect feel just that-less. Author Jessica E. Subject takes on this issue fearlessly as she explores what a 1NS would be between two people that had lost much but had the world to gain. If they let go and open up to the possibilities looking them right in the face, they may just both get what their heart's desire.

The narration for this book was fun. Full of accents and different characterizations, it was a treat to listen to.

Predictable drivel

Would you try another book from Jessica E. Subject and/or Audrey Lusk?

One and done. With a preposterous story line and a predictable outcome this was a waste of an hour.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jessica E. Subject again?

No I won't. Her writing lacks character depth.

What didn’t you like about Audrey Lusk’s performance?

The performance was stilted, not believable and not in synch with the feelings of the character. It sounded like Audrey was just not really into her or didn't want to let herself be the main character. Her reading of the guy was stiff. She wasn't conveying his emotional state either.

Any additional comments?

A dud. Dull story with dull performance.
