About this listen

Rose Weston is in hell. After being kidnapped and held as a sex slave, she is struggling to come to terms with the trauma. Under the care of her sister, Daisy, Rose is recovering at the Hades Motel and Diner, owned by the Four Horsemen MC. When Rose is threatened by her former captor, she asks Duke for help.

Duke has been to hell and back. After surviving an abusive childhood, dangerous black ops missions, and a stint in prison, Duke is reluctant to give a damn about anyone but himself. But Rose touches a place in his cold heart, no other woman has.

Rose is looking for a little payback. He reluctantly agrees to teach her combat skills. Together, they will make the man who held her captive pay. But he doesn't count on what a temptation Rose can be. Duke only has rough sex and plays by his own rules. Rose wants to share his bed and have a sexual relationship on her own terms, but is she ready after the abuse she's suffered?

Or is she damned?

Dayum.

Where does Damned rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Damned is a great continuation of the Horsemen MC tale, gripping and gritty, it grabbed me and didn't let go until the last word.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rose. I loved her journey from victim to victor. Kai's performance was spot on, and I loved her passion.

Which character – as performed by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross – was your favorite?

Duke, simply because Wen can read the phone book and make my panties drop. But he was a strong, alpha leading man, with his own demons to conquer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I did. And I want more.

A biker equivalent to touch her and I'll kill you?

Please tell me there will be more and that there will be satisfaction. Elizabeth and ryker, cowboy and daisy and now duke and rose the most frustrating of the couples but also the two I love the most. I need more nope I crave it. Maybe voo or shep is next a new life for daisy and cowboy or better yet rose and duke. The damaged aren't always the ugliest sometimes they are the most beautify despite themselves! <3<3<3

Great rising from the ashes story

I love this story. Even with all the twisted stuff that happened to her it was great to hear about Rose and her coming into her own self. Kai and Wen really pulled this one off and gave an amazing voice to Rose and Duke's story. It was great hearing more about the club and seeing it fill out more into one giant family. This story was really awesome and touching. I hate to hear about it, but it's still great and it shows that male or female everyone can be vulnerable.

Kind of dark, but so is life.

Love it when a broken woman takes her life back. This may be too much for a woman who has suffered an abusive relationship in the past. However, I love that the lead female role becomes a bad azz in the end. You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option.

Good plot, narration was a disappointment!

So far, with the previous books, I found the true dual narration, between these two narrators, refreshing. However, the voice inflections Kai chose for Duke, were lacking. I know that Duke is supposed to be emotionally aloof, due to his history but, aloof shouldn’t mean a monotone voice; especially when this character has barely contained anger. It just didn’t fit, in my opinion. In addition, the monotone voice made it a difficult book to finished. If I was sitting or laying down,I dozed off.
That being said, I loved how these two damaged people related and helped, each other. Normally, I would be uncomfortable with a sexual abuse victim who desired a relationship with someone 20 years, her senior. That would come across as a victim mimicking their abusive encounter. However, in this case, the age difference isn’t what formed the attraction; it was the shared abusive history.
This was pretty well written and I think it makes a good addition to the series. My only real disappointment was the narrator’s performance.
