My favorite audio book so far!

What made the experience of listening to Empower Me #1: In the Spotlight the most enjoyable?

Wonderful writing, full of details and Lily’s sultry narration made this audio experience really enjoyable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is, of course, Freya Moreton – the main character. The author Jean Claude Carvill did such a great job developing her character throughout the story, you really start feeling close to her and sympathize with her inner struggle by the end of the book. She’s portrayed as a strong woman, who changed her environment into a positive one and you can’t help but admire her.

Which scene was your favorite?

Freya and Corey! What a couple these two make.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Freya deciding whether or not it’s the right thing to marry Tristan.

Any additional comments?

This is one of the few audio books I’ve listened to and I’m glad I did! I can say with confidence that I prefer the audio version as it lets you relax and let your imagination run wild. Highly recommended.

Empower Me

What made the experience of listening to Empower Me #1: In the Spotlight the most enjoyable?

Overall what I enjoyed most about this audio book was the story itself. Jean Claude Carvill is a gifted writer, and I appreciate that he took the time to find a great narrator, whose smooth reading and sultry voice really added to the experience.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Empower Me #1: In the Spotlight?

The most memorable moments of Empower Me- was when the title became true and Freya took control of her own life and admitted to herself what she really wanted. I loved the attention to detail and especially to Freya's character. She had a great backstory, which really tied into her behavior and why she acted the way she did. It was nice that the author took the time to develop the characters so well, it made the entire story that much more well rounded and enjoyable.

What does Lily Horne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really liked Lily's inflection with her voice into the emotions/ actions of the characters. Her narration made the book more enjoyable for me than if I had just read it off the page. She brings the characters to life for me, which I would not have done as well on my own.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was a book that I wanted to listen to all in one sitting, however I was not able to since it is a decent length. I had to finish it throughout several different sessions when I had some time to myself. I wish I had been able to listen to it all in one sitting, though I am also glad that I got to spend more time with the book than if I just rushed through it.

Any additional comments?

This was a great read, with great characters, and the perfect amount of steam. I really loved Freya's inner struggle to figure her life out. I don't listen to a lot of audio books, but this experience has opened my eyes, and I really liked the experience. Wonderful book, by a great author that I definitely will be listening to more of his audio books.

Another great book from Jean-Claude Carvill

Along with my blossoming orchid, this book shows me that Jean-Claude Carvill has an amazing talent for developing sophisticated and interesting characters even in a genre like erotica. The book is not draped with crude descriptions of sex, but Freya's story progressed aside from the sexual nature of the book. The real-world themes and the sexual themes were married in a way that makes this book very pleasant and interested to listen to in one sitting.

loved it.

it's been awhile since I've enjoyed a story like this. Characters were very well developed so that you felt like you really understood them. The ending was somewhat abrupt however. Overall I loved it.
