About this listen

Jacob

I’m broken.

I’m well aware of this singular fact of my life. Even as I stitch up patients, correcting their imperfections, I know that there is no cosmetic surgery that will fix what’s broken inside of me. Which is why I don’t let anyone get too close.

I learned early on, most people can’t be trusted. The ones who were entrusted with protecting you can do the most harm. So I deal with life the only way I learned how. I fight. On the days when work gets to me, or the memories from my past become too much, I head to the Underground. A place where even a plastic surgeon such as myself, can let my guard down and give in to my base emotions. It works, for the most part.

Then in walks Grace. She is the very embodiment of her name. A new nurse on the surgical unit. The sparks that fly between us don’t end once we exit the operating room. For the first time, I’m challenged to give in to the feelings I never believed myself capable, and all that comes with it. Or push her away to save her from an ugly past I worked long and hard to forget.

Please Note: Jacob's Song is a standalone BWWM romance. This book may contain content that is triggering to some listeners. Sensitive material includes childhood abuse and SA, mental illness, and cancer (FMC is in remission but the aftermath is a part of their story). However, HEA is guaranteed.

Anytime I can say I would listen to an audiobook again, I know I enjoyed it. There are some heavy moments. Made me want to fight for the characters, but that’s what makes Tiffany’s books so good. Of course the narration was perfection as always!

i think this is my favorite of the series. two folks who have been through it, but are working to be better for themselves (even if reluctantly). the backstories are devastating, but Ms. Patterson did a wonderful job walking them through growth and healing. as well as relating the ups and downs, two steps forward, three steps back reality of recovery.

so many heart strings

First let me say that I loved this story when I was I read it after it first came out & have been waiting for the audio. It does have heavy themes of dealing with & surviving cancer, mental illness, blackmail &child abuse but done in a tasteful manner. I was rooting for Grace & Jacob from the beginning ; I was glad that Grace was a "stand by your man" & Jacob grew enough to accept her support & love while learning to love her. Steamy hot sexy, great plot, all ends nicely tied up with happy ending . Having worked in OR, not all of those scenes were factual but didn't detract from story. Highly recommended...I will listen again. Thank God for a good female narrator.

Loved the book and couldn't wait for the audio..
