About this listen

Since a child, Elite Benson had been drawn to shiny, expensive, and beautiful things. His wife, Jacintha, was all three at once. In the beginning of their marriage, things were perfect, but with time they both began to change, and Elite soon realized his wife was not the woman he thought she was.

Denali Peters was sure her life would never get any better. She had two children with a man who showed her with time just how impure his intentions were. At the top of her priority list was being a great mom, but working two jobs and raising her man along with their kids began to take a toll on Denali. Eventually, she realized the importance of self-care and her own happiness … but that happiness came with a hefty price.

When Elite’s marriage crumbles, he decides to right a few wrongs from his past. During his quest for health and happiness, he meets Denali, who appears to be after the same things. With all they have in common, you’d think a relationship between them would be inevitable … but there are a few people and secrets from their pasts that say otherwise.

The story started a lil slow and kinda dumb and the woman trying to speak in a black woman’s tone was horrible.. she sounded like she was reading not using f the right inflection on words… just not great

Please don’t have J Brooks narrate again’

The beginning made it mad but it got better. It was like I was in the book.

Slow burn

The book is so good. Family, loss, and finding love after tragedy. It is not predictable at all. Some of the love scenes are over the top but fit in where they are, adults only

Elite in every way

Elite is my book bae. I despise Jah. I like that everyone reconciled and it didn’t feel cheesy. It was a solid book.

Not bad

I love when I can visualize everything going on in the story. i waited or at was antipating Elite and Denali marriage and happily ever after. I am happy they found each other as they were made for each other.

Genuine happiness in the end

The story was good but there were a few plot jumps that made me rewind. Overall, good and the narrators did a good job bringing it to life.

Good book

Story was good; the narrator was horrible. She should've done some practice reading...I also wish they could transition between the characters.

Please, get another female narrator!!

I was looking forward to this book and I may have enjoyed reading a physical copy. I saw some of the reviews before starting and agree that the woman narrator’s readingwas awful, especially for Danali. Like the inflection was off and didn’t feel natural. The story itself was good and I love Elite and Supreme. I feel like a lot of detail was wasted on Jacinta that could have been spread to the other characters, but overall the book is good. Going to continue the series.
