About this listen

Gracie Evans is a woman tired of the men in her life not satisfying her in bed. She’s had a string of boyfriends, but none of them have come close to satisfying the vivid fantasies she has. Two weeks before Valentine’s Day, she breaks up with her latest boyfriend after a night of lackluster sex.

When her good friend Luke Forsythe overhears her talking to their friend Shelly about what she really wants, he’s stunned - and very turned on. Gracie thinks there isn’t a man alive who can satisfy her in bed. Luke aims to prove her wrong.

i liked the story premise, but it was too short and had an underdeveloped story and ending as many books seem to be.

too short

A sweet little story about a woman with a MMF fantasy. Luckily she finds two men able and ready to fulfill her desires. It was a bit too short for my liking as it wasn't too believable since it was rushed. I wish the story was way longer as Maya could have explored some more MMF fantasies and further build the relationships! :P

I had a little problem with the narration. Too slow for my liking. So, I listened to it with increased speed of 1.20x. That was much better.

This book is definitely worth listening to if the narration is acceptable for you. Enjoy!

MMF fantasy ... slurp ;P

I knew this was a short story when I chose it, but always disappointed when a story this good doesn’t go on for longer. Having said that I will also say that it didn’t feel as if there was anything left out in this book for as short as it was.

Narration was good. I enjoyed the southern accent and the fun phrases that only make sense or sound right to someone who has roots or has spent time in the south.

Good relationship build up, good, HOT scenes, HEA, with a little bit of quickly resolved turmoil. Good story but I’ve not yet read a Maya Banks book that I didn’t like.

Good story, but short

This has to be the most sensual, hot, erotic, sexy book I’ve ever read. Way to go Maya. Great narrator also. I enjoyed Luke in book 1, but oh, the moves and packages these guys have, they became my fantasy too. Also kudos to Gracie for asking for what she wanted. Can’t wait to listen to “Undenied”, bk 3.

OMG! OMG!

This story was hot and entertaining. Things happen pretty quickly and it is a short one but was pretty entertaining. Luke overhears a conversation that Gracie is having with her best friend about some of her fantasies and what she really wants and it turns him on. It gives Luke the push and perspective that he needs to ask Gracie out and start setting something up to fulfill her fantasies as well as getting her to open up to him and start to build a relationship. The story is hot and it has a little bit of kink with some control, tying up, and m/f/m. The story was entertaining and hot and great if you aren't looking for something deep but something quick and hot.
The narrator did a good job with the story.

Short and hot

Though it's very short, it has a nice plot. It is a straight up erotic novella. There is no crazy angst and it was nice to see the transition from friends to lovers. The narrator has a pleasant voice and does well separating the characters. It was well worth the couple hours of my time.

Nice Little Short Story

I read several of this author's Scottish Highland stories several years ago and I liked them. I had a couple of minor issues with this tale which I will describe as follows.

It seems to me that there has been a trend since FSOG for spanking and other painful acts which are supposed to be stimulating for the participants. While I am not a prude and have no problem with anything consensual between adults, I personally find reading about this type of sexual activity unappealing. I can see where light spanking and light bondage would be fun as long as it is not painful and done in a playful not punishing manner. Equally, I find the idea of the woman always being the submissive participant boring, preferring a more egalitarian situation without assigned roles. However, I recognize that everyone has the right to draw their own boundaries and that includes me. I don't feel like I am judging but rather writing about what I find stimulating. With so many differing opinions, I wouldn't be surprised if an author would just like to put everyone's opinions all in a blender!

WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD - The other issue in the book I found confusing was why the female main character got SO upset about the male character overhearing her convo with her friend. It wasn't like he was eavesdropping so it seemed like a tempest in a teacup to me. However, the author did have the character admit that she had overreacted but her behaviour seemed extreme to me. I found both characters likeable although I would have enjoyed more character development.

In conclusion, I felt that this book was a fairly good story although I enjoyed the writer's earlier publications better. However, I think Maya Banks is obviously an accomplished author and I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

Overall I enjoyed this book.
