About this listen

Some stories are born in fire.

Elizabeth Bennet has never been the quiet type. Clever, sharp-tongued, and fiercely self-possessed, she’s spent her life sidestepping expectations.
Marriage? Yes — for some. But not for convenience. Not for coin.

Fitzwilliam Darcy sees everything. And judges most of it. Cold, composed, and born to power, he’s used to admiration — not argument.

But then he meets her.

From the candlelit chaos of a country ball to whispered moments in shadowed gardens, their words clash. Their glances linger.
And what begins as disdain slowly twists into something darker — magnetic, forbidden, and impossible to ignore.

This is not the Pride & Prejudice you remember.
It’s deeper. Rougher. Slower to trust.
But when it ignites — it doesn’t burn politely.

Pride and Temptation is a sensual, character-driven variation filled with slow-burn tension, sharp wit, and stolen moments that ache.

Perfect for fans of steamy historical retellings, enemies-to-lovers romance, and regency passion with heat, hesitation, and longing in every glance.

This novel is overlong, but putting the narration speed at 1.5 certainly helped. I do not care for virtual voice, but it was listenable with the sped up narration. There were some errors, such as Wickham being referred to as Darcy a few times in one chapter. Plus a couple of times the exact same passage of writing was inserted into more than one chapter. But despite these issues, I enjoyed the story overall, once I adjusted to this author's style. Definitely worth a look, esp. for free.

Overlong but OK

The narration didn’t pause between scenes so it got confusing. The story was believable as an ending to Jane Austin’s book.
