About this listen

To the unassuming observer, Ben Lockwood is your typical suburban dad.

Aside from the fact that he's only thirty-six and his daughter is a sophomore in college. He and his wife, Jessica, had their only daughter, Hailey, when they were in high school. So you can imagine the unease Ben is feeling when said daughter brings her new boyfriend home for Thanksgiving… To stay in their house for the whole weekend.

Ryan Harper, otherwise known as the boyfriend, is every dread Ben's ever had in his daughter dating come to fruition. There's nothing wrong with Ryan. He's polite, smart, and charming… He doesn't have any neck tattoos or facial piercings, and he drives a BMW. But still, he's dating Ben's daughter. That makes him a threat.

It's in Ben's best interest to keep an eye on the kid. You know, to make sure there's no funny business going on under his roof. Unfortunately for him, the tension in the house is less about Ryan being his daughter's boyfriend and more about him being a strangely intriguing human.

Soon enough, Ben can't tell if he's watching Ryan to protect his daughter's innocence or obliterate his own. It seems like the boring married guy image isn't going to hold up for long… Not after this bizarre, life-changing weekend.

What are these new, strange feelings and desires? Where did they come from? And why do they have to center around what belongs to his daughter?

Ben and Ryan's situation couldn't get much more complicated… Until Jessica steps into the mix.

An unexpected push is all it took for their lives to change forever.

MM turns to MMF in a very steamy, unexpected romance that will make you laugh, maybe cry, and definitely swoon. If you're looking for an open-minded tale of taboo and forbidden romance that ultimately works out for its characters, this book is for you!

Story is amazing, narration is mediocre

I have read this book in the past twice and have been anxiously waiting for the audiobook release. I preordered it and counted down the days. On release day, I pressed play SO FAST. The instant disappointment at Ben's narration was painful. Ben is basically the most important character in this book and has A LOT of chapters. I don't know which narrator it is, but he made Ryan sound so feminine and it sounded like he was mocking the story the whole time he read. Ryan's narrator was great and we barely get anything from Jess' narrator since this story mainly surrounds the relationship between Ben and Ryan. I made it through the whole audiobook because I genuinely LOVE this book but I don't know if I'll be able to make it through this narration again. Very disappointing.

I Give this Book a 4/5 Star Rating.

**Audiobook Review at Bottom.
HEA(?): Yes!
Relationship Type: MMF
M/M(?): Yes!
Heat: 4.5/5
Romance: 4-4.5/5
Drama: 3.5-4ish/5
Suspense: 4/5
Pacing: the pacing overall is mid.

I love these type of books, I’m especially a fan when the female isn’t the main focus yet is a meaningful part of the relationship as well.
I will reread this book over and over, I really enjoyed it very much.

Audiobook Review
Overall: 3.5-4/5, Listing as 4.
Story: 4/5
Performance: 3.5-4/5
Narrators: Rose Dioro, Liam Dicosimo, Zachary Zaba

Truthfully it did take a bit to get used to the voices, cause they weren’t at all what I was expecting to be honest. But the longer you listen you kinda get used to it, and regardless I’m grateful for the audiobook because I was able to ‘see’ the book in more depth then I actually thought it was.
I got this book the moment it was out and it is a pretty good palate cleanser between reads that you can leave and go back to easily.

Nyla K is a genius

I've never rated anything by Nyla K as less than 5/5 stars. She's absolute magic, her stories always blow me away. Her talent is staggering, she might just be my favorite author of all time.

Steam central

Nyla K is a mastermind! I’m obsessed with the love scenes in this book. The number of them, the frequency and the amount of delicious description and dialogue were just exquisite!
I can’t find fault in the pace of the story, the build up of the characters and I liked how the author navigated such a taboo and awkward meshing of these characters that you would think shouldn’t work, but they do.
The voice actors did a great job overall (special mention goes to Liam DiCasimo who is a fave of mine), although I feel that Zachary Zaba’s voice for Ben missed the mark in that it lacked the sex appeal that he was going for. Zaba’s natural reading voice is lovely but it was as if he lowered his tone for Ben’s character and it just didn’t do it for me.

is it hot 🔥 🥵 in here

can I just say that by the end I was able to figure it out some of the plot, but it was a ride and an earnest yearning to get there with all the characters. the book creates a fantasy of truth and want that you truly can see happening. Great read. but you should do it with time, I had too many interruptions that made me cranky for interrupting me during my 'oh so good read' 👍

Wow!

I love Nyla K. For the Fans is my favorite MM book! This is slightly different. It starts as a forbidden MM and then becomes a MMF polyamorous storyline.

The narrator for Ryan had a sexy voice and is perfect. The narrator for Ben used a fake deep voice. The voice didn’t match the image painted for Ben. His voice was annoying but luckily it didn’t ruin the story. You get use to it and it’s not so annoying halfway through.

Nyla K. Is known for her super steamy books and this didn’t stray. Ben & Ryan’s chemistry was off the charts and their spicy scenes were long and graphic. So much delicious spice!

This is a 18 hour audiobook, which should’ve been 16 hours at most.

I loved Ben & Ryan’s story. However, Jess & Ryan’s story was rushed and their love for each other was unbelievable due to the lack of 1-on-1 scenes they had. (I believe they only had two short scenes together without Ben.)

Overall, I recommend this book. If you want spice there is plenty of it. If you want a good story about the struggles of two straight men falling in love, this story has it and it also touches on the struggles of being a polygamous couple.
