About this listen

Liam knew he loved Milo, even as a kid. But even fame and fortune can't buy the happiness of taking Milo out of the closet and freely expressing their love. Unfortunately, there is someone out there who will do anything to tear them apart, conspiring to break the lovers up in the most vicious way possible.

Six years later, older and wiser, Liam has rebuilt his life after the devastating loss of his lover. Forced by his loyalty to a friend, Liam agrees to a working reunion with Milo. And when they realize what had been done to them, they band together to uncover the web of lies that pulled them apart.

Good story but the reader is ghastly!

The story was interesting with gratifying tension and suspense, even if the motives for the antagonist's actions was perhaps a little thin. But oh the trauma of that voice reading ... I had to listen at double speed because I simply had to know how it ended. The reader sounded as though he was reading an absurd drama and so sounded on the cusp of amusement half the time and the other half as though he were reading the book for the first time and therefore unfamiliar with the correct inflection. It was a disappointing performance.

This narrator is ATROCIOUS!

Serious problems with the Narrator:
1. Almost constant monotone voice.
2. Same voice for all characters.
3. Ends every sentence by dragging out the word.
4. Very weird cadence to his reading.
5. Incorrect pronunciation, misreading of words, and errors are rather frequent.

I am trying to get through this book, but the narration has me ready to abandon it on Chapter 10.

I am shocked that any production company or editor would ever allow so many errors, or THAT annoying voice.

This story might (and I say that with some major doubts) be better with a Narrator who knows what he's doing, but the actual story line isn't really that good.

Unless you enjoy the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard, you might want to forego this Narrator and this story...

Save your ears

Do yourself a favor and just read the story. The narration is the worst. I would have preferred a computer read this story.

Horrible narrator

Could even finish. The voices are so whiny and monotone! I love the author, very poor choice for the audiobook.

Great Story, Horrible Reader!

Any additional comments?

I so enjoyed the story when I read it in book form! I hated the audible version! The reader hit that nerve, like nails on a chalkboard! Don't let this review dissuade you from listening to this story! This is just one person's opinion!

Needs a different narrator

The voice of the narrator had me turning the book off after chapter 3. The story line started out good, but the voice ruined it for me.

Huge Disappointment

I have enjoyed this author's other audiobooks but this one is a total fail. Listened for 2 hrs 15 mins and couldn't stomach another minute. I am pretty sure it's mostly the narrator's fault, but I couldn't say if I actually liked the story or characters either in spite of the bad reader. Honestly, if I were the author I would have been livid with this narrator's butcher job. It's almost like he didn't like the book so he purposely read it in an almost mocking way, but if that were his goal, he could've accomplished it while still showing some skill as a voice actor. As it was, I couldn't differentiate between the two characters having a conversation, and the interpretive choices he made caused the characters to come off as unlikeable and unsympathetic. Also lots of mispronounced words. I'm bummed.
