About this listen

Everybody feared the man with the metal band over his mouth.

Stryker was part of an elite group of Cyborgs genetically enhanced with inhuman DNA. He was known as the Creeper, the quiet, the man with half a face. His fate was his own and his freedom hard-earned, having nothing to live for but the hunt and his perfect record. Until he received a distress call that changed his bleak existence.

"Please, oh god, please. Is anybody out there? This is Norah Lee, a scientist of Earth. I-I don't know what to do. I think everybody...everyone is dead. Please if you hear this, please help us. I can hear them outside. They're coming...I don't want to die!"

Contains mature themes.

Fabulous Story! Best Narration!

This series is so unique; I love it! I read the books and had to have the audio. I adore A Cendese’s voice for male characters- not so much for female.

Meh

I love alien romances. However, falling in love within 24 hours is cringy- and then pushing away the person you love because they say they have feelings for you… I literally said “Really!?” Out loud lol. And all the different pet names … I don’t know it was just sooo mushy and there was no suspense really to their relationship that it just left me wanting something more.

Oof

This was a very different story line from the first book. Highly angst. Dual POV. Sometimes hard to follow. I thought this was an overarching series thus far it was not. Little romance. Spice 1.5.

The male narrators female voice sounds like a child. Which makes the story perverse.

80's Thriller-Romance Experience

Feels very nostalgic, like I'm curled up on my couch watching a movie from the 80's. It was sweet and fun and a good time. Only complaint is the narration. It felt rushed and I actually had to slow down the read-speed to not miss details. Also didn't have the right inflections for how the characters were described to be speaking at times. Still enjoyed the book.

I liked the first book...

I freaking loves this one! its damn near intense from beginning to end. And thus Cyborg has more personality than the one in Book 1.

Fast-paced and Exciting

I liked the two main characters, but not the male narrator so much. He sounded like a smart ass from The Sopranos. The story/plot was very sci-fi and logical, which is a big thing for me. I like it when events COULD happen, not just be someone's wandering imagination. There at least has to be a nod toward science. The plot moved quickly and there was never a dull moment. I think this is why I finished this book in record time. The alien monsters were truly horrific! I think I chewed off a few fingernails. This was a fantastic second book. I will be buying the next one asap!

Nora and Stryker the viper!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌏
Character development: 😤😥😊🤩😘

The heroine: Nora - she is one of a team of scientists on a planet at the edge of the universe on planet Axone to see if it can be used for humans. When one of the scientists was blinded it was determined that the world was too dangerous and Nora and the rest of the team was packing everything up to go back to Earth. With a storm coming in, the team is attacked by some unknown creature and Nora is left alone.

The Hero: Stryker (a.k.a. The Creeper) - he is a monster hunter for the government like Dommick from Wild Blood. He catches various plants and animals throughout the galaxy to be used for study on Earth. He is a cyborg shifter with reptilian DNA mixed with Human DNA and a whole lot of tech.

The Story: Nora leaves an SOS and Stryker who is on his way back from his last hunt, picks up her transmission and stops on Axone in order to check it out. He helps her out of the building she was stuck in with the body of one of her peers. Then they have to brave the storm and whatever killed her team, to get to Stryker’s flyer and off the planet to his ship that is in orbit around the planet. Though they find his flyer is out of commission.

Stryker feels protective of Nora from the start and he helps her fight the elements to get away. He knows there are creatures out there just waiting for a chance at them, but he promises himself he would keep her safe. Nora latches on to the Cyborg shifter as her savior despite his odd looking appearance which includes a plate that goes over his mouth and nose that keeps his poison from affecting humans.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and narrated by Hollie Jackson and Alexander Cendese who do a great job and both show a lot of emotion through their voices. I like both of these narrators, and wish more of this series was available via audiobook. I am liking the original storylines, the way the cyborgs shift into different animals and the fact that they are non-standard shifter animals, instead of dragons and wolves. This one was definitely action packed and had a great story!

Loved it but not

Yeah I know pretty wishi washy maybe it’s the narrator I love the deep tone of the male but when he tries to do a female voice it puts me off. I feel that something is missing maybe a little slow? Definitely hasn’t stopped me from getting the rest of the series even though I had to get some on kindle
